Or if you wish to be somewhat more cultured, watch Shakespeare's Othello. Interesting signing, looking forward to how he does. It's likely to take time for him to settle so I hope we can give him that time as fans.
-
If this is true then I don't understand why Saints have been fannying around making bids for him for the last 2 weeks. Either Hooper is lying, or else NA and NC have wasted a lot of precious time. Let's hope it's the former!
-
Who is this James Nursery bloke?
-
Yes, and scored too.
-
I think he really wants Hooper!
-
I'd love that. love it.

Tough one, between Connolly and Morgan for me. Ended up giving it to Morgan as occasionally DC's flicks didn't come off and he gave the ball away.Just a lack of match practice recently to blame for that though imo. Honourable mentions to Hooiveld and Cork also.
-
This! top stream! Agree, they are in superb form.
-
Brilliant result! Cork is much better on the right than Morgan, and Morgan was superb in the middle. I think the red card was fair, you can't jump in with your arm like that. Defence were excellent. I was one of the many who feared we could capitulate in this game, but well done team, these lads are made of some stern stuff. I think we'll go up as champions.

If we get to the prem I can't see NC settling for 27 more years of flirting with relegation. Obviously it wouldn't happen over night, but I can see us eventually reaching the same sort of level as Villa or Everton. Solid PL clubs with chances of a good league position with a favourable run of results.

He's just posted a good luck message to the U18s for the game against Pompey tomorrow, suggesting he's not playing in that, which means he may be in the 1st team squad after all.

Baird is a non-starter. Awesome as it would be, Jol has already said he's not going to be leaving in Jan.
-
True, but he's done well at Championship level, now is doing well in the SPL and, more importantly, in the odd European game, so the PL should be a natural next step for him if you ask me.

I haven't read this thread but I'd just like to throw in my thoughts. The most irritating, blood-boilingly annoying thing that certain people do on this forum, is firmly assert that something negative will happen, and when people question it, they get told that they're being unrealistic, or 'happy clappy'. For example, saying that 'we are not going to be promoted' in September, 'we will not buy any players' on the 2nd of January', 'we have thrown away the chance to put the title race to bed' in October is ridiculous. I can see why some people are so vociferous in their responses because these opinions are quite simply incorrect, and it is so irritating to read the same drivel every day. This isn't having opinion, an opinion would be 'I don't think we'll get promoted', or 'I can't see us signing players'. Why not phrase things like this? The unfounded arrogance that some posters have, because they feel they are the only 'realistic' people on here, is pathetic. I'm all up for varying opinions, so phrase your negativity as such, and not in the form of a fact, so that you can patronise other posters who dare to disagree.

This would obviously be a real coup for the club, but I can't see us getting him. Not in January anyhow. Seems more likely that this bid was made to assert both to the player and Celtic that our interest is serious and it might make GH think twice about signing a new contract at the end of the season. If we are willing to spend a substantial amount this window, as this bid would suggest, then I really think we should go for Rhodes. I hope we were one of the 20 PL and NPC clubs who were there to watch him stick 5 past Wycombe the other day.

'Every possibility of a major signing'. Oh Nigel you tease.
-
Can't wait to hear how the youngsters did from the fans there. Well done lads, and congrats especially to JWP and Martin.
-
This. When Holmes first joined, he was our best player before his injuries. Hope he gets another chance.

Diamond wasn't working, he changed it, we score. Several times this season the opposite has happened, we couldn't get hold of the ball playing 442 so changed to diamond. I'm pleased NA has more than one plan to choose from.
-
Well probably, seeing as it was his idea...
-
JWP what a hero!
-
Only because he was shown training with JWP on the Saintsplayer video. I actually think Hammond would be a better choice, just for experience and grit.
-
Bart Butterfield - Hooiveld - Martin -Dickson Holmes - Ward-Prowse -Cork - Puncheon Reeves Connolly I'm not sure how likely it is that Punch will be play, but certainly expect Reeves and JWP to start from what NA has said. Wouldn't be surprised to see some other youngsters on the bench too.

I've just written this on the Lee thread, but for £1.85mil, Sharp is a steal. Lambert, as a proven league 1 striker, cost us a million. Surely we can't miss the opportunity to buy a proven NPC striker for less than 2 mil? I also think, like Lambert, he will gain fitness, lose a bit of weight and generally become a better all round player with us, so that he may be ready for the PL should we get there this year.
