It sounds as though Frazer and Fox are seeing a lot of the ball out wide. Compensates for the lack of width that Guly and Chaplow offer.
-
Phew. Let off.
-
Sounds like 'Ammers have started well.
-
Yes get in jos the boss
-
Wooo let's go! COYRs Wish I was there
-
They were in the premier league last year so they didn't have to sign up with the crappy website and player thing
-
You know what I mean, dropped out of the starting 11.
-
I know what you mean, but with Lallana out I think it an odd decision to drop Cork too. Anyway as you rightly said earlier I assume he's got a bit of a knock.
-
Why is Cork on the bench? weird.
-
I'm pretty sure that's cheating!

4-2 to Saints. There be goals in this one. Would love to be there!

Ditto.

It looks as though this will be one of The Football League Show's featured games on Saturday night, so should have more than the usual 30 seconds!

Agree with most replies really, it can't be described as make or break this early in the season, but it will certainly be an interesting test of where we are right now, and how far away we are from where we want to be. We need to make sure that, as fans, we are going by the same mentality that NA has instilled within the players - don't get to high when we win, and certainly don't get too low when we lose. We will have periods of bad form, we'll lose some games we should win, but as someone posted a bit earlier, enjoy the ride!

My predictions: Derby 1-2 Saints Saints 3-0 West Ham Reading 3-1 Saints Saints 0-0 Middlesborough Gives us 7 points, and keeps me smiling. Also think our second string will play against Palace so not too sure how that will turn out.

I wouldn't say I'm afraid of success, but I'm certainly wary of progressing too fast. I would be concerned if we starting splashing out millions on transfers and contracts to get to the PL as soon as possible (a la West Ham and Leicester). At the moment I think we're making steady progress and I'm delighted with it!

Loving the game at the mo, really enjoying the layout and the team talk improvements. However, anyone else experiencing a lot of injuries? One game into the season and I have Barnard, Lambert and Connolly all out long term for injuries in pre-season, then Guly got an injury during the first game, replaced him with Forte who scored, then got a 4 month injury 10 minutes later! Jamie Mackie (signed from QPR for £1m) is now the only recognised striker I have fit! Oh but loving how awesome Lallana is. Have him playing as an advanced playmaker on the left wing, and he's yet to get a rating below 7.5!

Yep probably will be mate. You're at Kent too aren't you? I'll probably be in the Monument, opposite St. Dunstans church. Would be good to have another saint around!

Great news, will mean I get to watch it. A lone Saint cheering loudly in a quiet Canterbury pub full of Chelsea and Man Utd fans....

We will continue to bring players through into the first team, but selling players like Theo, Bale and AOC has been essential in keeping the club running over the last few years. More will stay at the club for longer now that we are becoming more successful, but players will still be sold if the right offer comes in. That's the future of our academy in my opinion. Also, sorry to go all MLG on you but it's David CONNOLLY. People keep writing Connelly!

I popped in a few weeks ago. It is so biased toward Portsmouth it's ridiculous - for example there is an audio section of 8 different accounts from fans. Only one is a Saints fan. Also, in the blue corner they have pictures up of Nick Knight and Linvoy Primus - real Portsmouth icons - but in the red end there is not one mention of Matt Le Tissier. All the pictures are of our team from last year! Bizarre really.
-
From what I have seen of him this season so far, I think NPC is his level. Long way to go though, and he will benefit from forming a strong partnership with Hooiveld imo.
-
FFS he's an 18 year old lad acting in the heat of the moment of scoring his first goal for a massive team infront of 45000 fans. Give him a break.
