Not really sure about this one tbh. January isn't the time to be bringing in players who are gonna potentially need time to settle imho. I really think if 1.85 million is correct, then we would miss a real trick not going for Billy Sharp. I think players proven in English football should be who we look at. Save the foreigners for the summer. I am, of course, willing to trust in NA and NC, and I'm sure they know more about it than I do...

He said loans and permanent deals would be available.

Also think Dale Stephens was a cracking bit of business. Did a solid job until the end of the season but deemed not good enough for the league above. Nothing wrong with that.

Oh don't get me wrong, I completely agree. Just a few words to confirm they're still around would be great. Maybe a good old marquee signing to give us a lift. My problem is with Dalek's constant attempts to wind people up by repeating himself over and over again. We all know how he feels and I respect his opinion, so his only reason to keep saying it is to wind people up, and quite frankly it's pathetic and juvenile.

For goodness sake, we get it, you were disappointed with how much we spent. PLEASE please drop it now.

Has there ever been a game where Saints have been drawing or losing at half time that you have said 'can see us going on and winning this'?. Give the lads some support, believe in them. They'll win this.

What is going on

It was my first trip to SMS last night since September and one thing I noticed was the unacceptable reaction whenever Guly did something wrong. Lallana was absolute **** last night, but every time he gave the ball away there was a quiet groan and a polite clap, applauding the effort. Same with Lambert, same with every other player. However, if Guly ever had the nerve to try something a bit different and lost the ball, the reaction was vitriolic, screams of 'you're **** Guly' and such like. It's pathetic and has no place in football. He is one of our players and should be supported as such. I also thought he did OK last night. Oh and if you're one of the mongs who booed at the final whistle, hang your head in shame. Rant over, Happy New Year everyone!

according to who?

It didn't click tonight for sure, but I think people are going a bit OTT about how poor we actually were. Sometimes you have to hold your hands up and say that the other team played very well. BC were fit, strong, quick to close us down and completely stopped us playing our game. Adomah is the best player I've seen against us this season, he was all over the place and was impossible to mark. We were average all over the park, but mostly because BC always had two men on Lambert, Lallana and Guly. Rickie was marked out of the game, Lallana offered nothing tonight and it was so frustrating when Fox had it on the left and had nobody to give the ball to because AL had gone walkabout, but I actually thought Guly played well. We need players in Jan who'll offer us a plan C or D! Positive: De Ridder was billiant.

I think Claridge is a brilliant pundit. He manages to be knowledgeable and articulate about 72 clubs every week. He is the best pundit on the BBC in my opinion.

I would expect us to only sign three players in January. As much as the squad needs a boost, to bring too many players in would be a bad idea, and our league position shows that we don't need any upheaval. I think we'll get a striker, a right winger and CB in on loan until the end of season with a view to a perm mone, but nothing set in stone, like Dale Stephens last year. In an ideal world for me it would be Rhodes and Snodgrass, although I think it more likely to be Sharp who we get. Not sure about what other RW are available at the mo tbh.

How come we play Bristol City on the 30th? It's not on TV is it?
-
He is hopeful to be back for Palace. Fingers crossed!
-
Awful. Missed half the game!

Rhodes or Sharp would be perfect, but I can't see either of them wanting to move down south. Jut would be Okay, but I'd rather have an out and out finisher. What about a PL player who isn't getting a game on loan or perm? What's Simeon Jackson up to? He would be perfect imo. Also need a RW and a CB, and we're good.

Well, that was a fair result. One of the worst games of football I've ever seen in term of quality, although we looked like we had more about us than they did. A lot more. Guly was very poor, but he is a luxury player and it says a lot about the work rate of our other players that we can still ground out a result with him being anonymous. I think NA was right to keep him on, as I always feel like he may pull something out of the bag. The game at reading a fine example. His defending for the goal was criminal, but it should never have been a corner in the first place, Harding had more time than he realised. Still, plenty of positives for me, top at Christmas, players not affected by the atmosphere, Hooiveld and Fonte were awesome, Chaplow still to come back, and most importantly, we didn't lose. I said I'd be happy with a draw beforehand. HOWEVER we really do need a striker in Jan. A Billy Sharp upfront would have won that game for us.

During Uni holidays I work at the Spinnaker tower so I know a lot of Skate fans and talk about their team quite often. Their defence is solid, first choice midfield very good but their attacking options are pretty poor. Kitson is utter gash. If the boys play like they can we'll win, but I reckon it'll be a draw personally.

I'm still not sure if this was a serious question??
-
Huh? If teams are level on points it goes to goal difference and THEN goals scored if still level

This. Fox shades it for me however because of his free kick delivery. Other than that I think they're very even.
