He is a league 1 player who has played for Colchester and Brighton (maybe one or two others - dunno). How good were you expecting him to be? Steven Gerrard he ain't, but I think he is a decent player for us at this level.

Second comedy moment: Thomas striding forward and deciding he had suddenly become a quality finisher, so he had a shot from 40 yards which my 5 year old would have saved. I say "comedy" but I wasn't laughing - nor was I laughing when Harding passed the ball straight off the pitch with no saints player within 30 yards. Woeful.

I would say he looks solid and reliable, which is good enough ATM "class" - dunno about that really. John Terry is class.

Poor Paterson just proved to me yet again that he ain't up to it. Comedy moment when he strayed a yard offside with the whole back line in his field of vision, then complained bitterly when the lino gave it. You know you are dreadful when you get subbed against 10 men when there are no strikers on the bench. Mills had a bit of a mare too, but deserved some reward when he got his header across the goal being begged to be tapped in. Charlton next- no chance on this performance.
