Very well put.

Good season, but from my perspective, it will always be tainted by the craven treatment of Adkins.

Decent season; uninspiring ending. Glad I saved my money, but pleased we eased to safety in the end.

Anybody have a working stream?

Went down very well.

Thinking of that game will always make me shudder, no matter how many times we beat them or how far they fall. It was a shockingly awful day. **** Redknapp.

In fact, he's a Libertarian. He's an extreme social and economic liberal, who believes in the free market and personal freedom. He doesn't fit the traditional definition of right wing at all.
-
You mean somebody in the Chapel was bold enough to make a noise during the game?

The atmosphere at Fratton in '05 was the sort of atmosphere we should have created for Redknapp, but we failed spectacularly. In the absence of that, we didn't get behind the team either. It was all just a bit fluffy bunnies, as it usually is at St Mary's. I stopped regularly attending home games a few years ago and the three I've been to this season have reminded me why. Against Wigan I was threatened with ejection by a steward, despite the fact I was two rows from the back of the Itchen and there was nobody within about 10 yards of me. Against Sunderland the atmosphere was crap and yesterday the atmosphere was rubbish, despite the fact we were playing not only one of our rivals in the relegation scrap, but also against the man who took us down and treated us all with contempt. I just don't see the point. I was generally disenfrachised with football despite the heroics of last season, but the sacking of Adkins made it a lot worse. The lack of passion in St Mary's yesterday just further proves that I shouldn't bother spending £200+ per month on days out to the football. I can watch it at home for free and create just as good an atmosphere with a cup of tea and a few pieces of toast.

Some of you are living in a parallel world. There was not enough abuse meted out to Redknapp. Proper football fans dish out abuse to those by whom they have been wronged. Most of the Saints fans just sit in silence then moan about negative atmospheres and a lack of 'getting behind the team'. **** Redknapp and **** all you Saints fans who think we shouldn't abuse him. It's people like you who make me tire of watching football and all the sanitised happy-clappy ****e that goes with it.
-
Why do we always have to moan about someting? Just enjoy the fact that we dicked the reigning champions.
-
He's our best player. I just hope none of the 'big boys' reallise how effective he is.
-
You could not be more wrong.
-
Considering the number of peope who were there, we were pretty quiet. I've experienced worse, though. On a related note, why do people still insist on angrily shouting 'get it forward' every time we play more than two passes backwards or sideways? It's moronic.

This is a QTWTAIN.

I'll give him two years at the longest. By then he'll have for a better job or have got sacked.

I agree with most of what you said in these points, but have no problem with our new manager's nationality. As for modern football (which, at 28, is pretty much all I've ever known) I could put up with being filmed by the police at games, treated like a child by stewards (at St Mary's and away), the high ticket prices and the **** atmosphere at most grounds. However, my club sacking the man who had led it to the best success during my life as a supporter, a man who seemed like a thoroughly decent bloke as well, might be the tipping point. I agree with this. I've paid for a train ticket to Wigan, but really don't want to go. Absolutely. I always felt we were above all the **** that went on with most of the premier league circus, even in the Sturrock/Wigley/Redknapp season. It can't all just be fluffy bunnies and enjoying the sport, but on the other hand the club should be about people; it's staff and fans should be at the heart of all decisions. Today proves that the success of the manager and the will of the supporters count for nothing. I'm not sure I can really be bothered to carry on spending my time and a significant amount of my spare money supporting a club that does not in any way share my outlook on life. Yes. I've posted it a number of times this season and said it to a few people at games: take me back to Stockport away.

He was a fine player for Saints in our best side during my lifetime. Anyone who thinks otherwise must have a very short or distorted memory. I'll never forget his semi-final M-o-M performance at Villa Park, even if I did have to pretend to be a Watford fan for 90 minutes.
-
So you lot have successfully managed to turn the fact that our goalkeeper put in a perfectly passable performance into a negative. Congratulations.

Despite going to about 15 games every season, I know that now we are in the top division I can watch every Saints game on the internet. Does that make me less likely to go to the games? Maybe.
-
Can we go back to League One?

The Sunderland fans weren't exactly noisy. Most of them appeared to be sitting down, which is odd for a team with that sort of fanbase. It's a sign of the times: football atmosphere is dead.
