  1. Got home at 4am :smt015 but it was well worth it! First of all our support was fantastic, making loads of noise and getting right behind the team. Brilliant effort by our away support who I do believe are one of the best in the league. We didn't stop singing at 1-0 down and the team didn't stop battling, and we deserved to equalise. Although Hartlepool looked like they were getting the ball down and playing it better than us, we did seem to show better credentials than them in both attacking and defending. Lallana's second goal seems like a contender for goal of the month, it was ace, a really sound effort, and it really pushed us on. For me, Lallana was man of the match, he was everywhere and has really come into his own this season. Lambert still didn't seem 100% match fit, but had a better game than the last couple he has played, and his goal came down to a comedy keeping error, which was quite funny. Does anyone know the extent of Kelvin's injury? It seemed to me like he cleared the ball then felt his leg, Bart seemed ready to come on anyway, the physio came on and KD walked off. Hope it's not serious. He made two fantastic saves in quick succession before going off. Don't want to single out any bad performances but Harding looked out of position a few times, which led to them counter attacking on their right. James again did not impress, he was playing right midfield and just did not really cut it. His crosses and corners were fine but he just didn't have a very good game. Shame for Connolly not to get on the scoresheet, he looked lively again and linked up well with players around him, and he still says there is more to come from him. The game wasn't very pretty but we did what we needed to do, and did it well in those conditions. Bit concerned that yet another goal we have conceded came from a cross though. It was a gutsy performance on a gusty night and we deserved the win. Bloody glad we did win or the trip home would have seemed a lot longer. Again, well done to all those that went.
  2. Just woken up after getting home at 4am Next time I'm flying up... I must admit our support was absolutely terrific, on a wet and windy Tuesday night in Hartlepool we made loads of noise for 99% of the game and top effort to all of us that went up there. I'm still buzzing from it, it was a top away day. Thedelldays you will be pleased to know we sung more than 4 songs, and the Lambert song sounded really good, so different to when it's sung at home, in a good way. It doesn't matter how many we took up there because we could have been at home with the level of noise we were making. Hartlepool fans made more noise than us on one occasion, and that's when they scored, but even then we immediately started singing again.
  3. In the Echo yesterday it had Pardew saying that he was pleased that Nicola Cortese has arranged a plane for them to travel up in. Hopefully this means it is a private jet, and not a bog standard flight, which would then mean there would be less hassle at the airport, more comfort on the flight, and it would be a better all round journey for the players.
  4. I guess yeah, 12th in the League and they have accumulated the same amount of points as us (23)... I guess I could change my mind and say it will be a draw. I know I won't be betting on this game though..
  5. Look at our team we started against Swindon: KD, James, Thomas, Lancashire, Harding, Mellis, Schneiderlin, Lallana, Paterson, Lambert. There's no Jaidi, Trotman, Connelly etc.. We had Lancashire at CB! Players that are now integral to our team weren't even at the club on that day. And don't forget that the bunch of players that no-one has heard of are 9th in the League and are doing alright.
  6. Ever the optimist Rich... I think we will bounce back though. When we lost to Brizzle on the Tuesday we came back and beat Gillingham 4-1 on the Saturday, the team has a fairly good mentality and despite all the doom and gloom on here because we've lost one game in nine (in all comps.) they should have fairly good morale too. As I said I feel it is going to be a very tight and a very tough game, but I honestly feel we can win it.
  7. Can't see another thread on the build up of tomorrow night's match so here goes. (I know there's one about actually making the trip, but it's not majorly about the match itself) In my opinion Pardew has a few things to think about - Lambert seems to be still recovering from his illness, and looked 'out of sorts' on Saturday, not completing 90 minutes. Murty made his comeback from a long-term injury, which is great, but will he be match fit for a start tomorrow? Can Pardew finally drop Lloyd James from the right back position? I'm not sure whether we should go with the 4-4-2 or the 4-5-1... It is hotly debated but for a trip to Hartlepool I'm not sure which would be more effective, especially as you look at the potential fitness problems of Lambert and Murty et al. Anyone got ideas on a line up or formation? I think it's going to be a tough game, but I think we could edge it 2-1. I'm looking forward to making the trip ooop North, and top effort to everyone else going up. Hopefully those not going can watch it on some Eastern European match streaming website, if not there's always Radio Solent...
  8. Legends.
  9. And 'Southampton Pride of the South', and 'Alan Pardew's Red Army' and 'We all follow Southampton'..... The list could go on actually.
  10. Fair enough, but as a Northam ST holder I can promise you we do sing more than 4 songs.....
  11. When was the last time you made a guest appearance at a Saints game, home or away?
  12. Northampton are only one League below us, it won't be an easy game. I'd like us to get the the third round as it gives us a chance to get a Premiership team, which would be cool. Rest the players that need resting, otherwise, go for it.
  13. Maybe it was like this: "Alright lads, what shall we do tonight? Go down the pub? Go to a club? Get a curry and watch the football?" "Nah, let's create a fake account on an internet forum and pretend we're some old bloke" "Wow, why didn't I think of that!"
  14. Yeah that was a good effort on those sheets - definitely helped! And I agree with that, it's a shame cos it would sound great with the whole of the Northam singing it properly and a bit slower.
  15. Booked my tickets for the end of the month, can't wait!
  16. Absolutely terrific plane. I think a bloke who did something important in it's renovation lives just near me, and so a couple of times the Vulcan has flown right up my street and over my house. I was at work the other week and it flew over, amazing sound, and the whole shop shook, someone even thought it was an earthquake!
  17. Thanks hamster
  18. Yeah, that's right.
  19. Must be up to around 12,000 or 13,000 in total now I reckon.
  20. I didn't have free school meals and am not a thickie, I'll 'ave you know mush.
  21. Bargain, thanks s_s. I've only watched the last two episodes of Generation Kill, thought it was well good. I'm gutted to have not got into it sooner than the penultimate episode but yeah, good television.
  22. After seeing the footage a few times now, what I find 'disgusting' is that the ball didn't just hit his hand, he used his fingers to flick the ball back into his path, stopping it from going off the pitch. He knew exactly what he was doing.
  23. I'm probably being stupid but what is the tune???
  24. If we did, would you go Rich?
