Shane Long: Southampton striker hits back at Saints' critics
ringwood replied to doddisalegend's topic in The Saints
Well I reckon Shane is exactly the player I expected when he arrived but has played out of position , however you judge him skill wise he's a trier. Why do we tend to judge on price? His overall game has improved. The team as a unit is certainly a match for last years, pity the referee's also seem to match!! 5th at xmas = superb current form well every team has a blip thats when the team and manager show what they are really made of -
Relay, no zorbs please especially after last time when one of the staff saw fit to interfere and adjust one of the zorbs, hence the boos. think it could be just as entertaining with middle aged guys running as the kids, see how many can actually run and shoot as well as the kids

the penalty that became a corner, that those around me thought, corner ffs if its not a pen then its a goal kick!!!!!,, ref today was the only poor performance on the pitch
-
a very expensive game, yellows and confidence, now we will see the measure of the Koeman brothers
-
Yosh did little wrong this week, time to try Harrison, was surprised he wasn't used for his combative style rather than Mayuka
-
As it was a previous brand all the old kit was destroyed!!!!!!!! so its 2nd hand or old stock from other outlets
-
win a cup and wave it in the direction of those who baled out on Saints in search of trophies , no silverware unless you win, so 4th 7th whatever means nothing in the record books and players will talk about medals and winning silverware at Saints rather than a league placing

Considering that at the time LALA left the club was in PR meltdown it was pretty astute of someone with the different website reactions to the players leaving. More inclined to believe the clubs reaction, he hit hard at someone in the club, do we believe Les and Co were being petty ? He should do as most players do when they move on, they make one statement with platitudes and then don't mention the old club again, so someones hurt and feels the need to keep digging, either a journo who's lost a local source or its LALA, just wish the DE would ignore him

Beats whole life has revolved around sport, swimming before football, so I'd say commitment won't be a problem, maybe just needs a lucky break, seems to have the humility to be a decent organiser/ exec whether that translates to coach or manager who knows

not often a new manager gets his own team so quickly, Pardew in L1 after the meltdown of admin, this team is now RK's red and white army, no tinkering with formations but the same old players to be convinced of a new man, but from back to front a new team, and honestly which of the new players had we even heard of? no cliques or we never used to do it this or that way . If your lucky enough to be in the squad its because RK wants you not because you were part of the furniture COYR's

simples, there's only one watch and they can't all wear it at the same time
-
free's up a loan position in the squad which might make a deal easier elsewhere, never saw him play so won't miss him
-
bring back the kids , but hey that was the the first time I could here the numbers from the draw, far clearer
-
If his dream has been sold, 7 players, first team starters gone, and only two in, wouldn't be at all surprised to hear he's gone, and wouldn't blame him at all

So how many of you are really washing your hands of saints?
ringwood replied to doddisalegend's topic in The Saints
The fact the season ticket renewal date was earlier this year = get the money in earlier( before the player sales) Get in a big name manager, sell some more Season Tickets ( fans think big name signings possible) Sell half the team ( sell the dream sold to Koeman) Koeman resigns and Saints end up with team of academy players and lowest points tally since Derby or Koeman is superman, has better players already lined up and we can expect half of the Barcelona squad to arrive this week? Paid out good money to see a team, proud of the spirit and feel around the club, now what did I pay my money for? yes still support the club trouble is the club has moved on , its now in the North West, thought we had chance to break mould of being a feeder club, watched it happen with other greats leaving, but only 1 at a time except Shilts and Wright, can't see anything other than a TV humiliation on 1st day and KL will reap what she's sown, a championship club and the remaining players leaving, but the rides been good but doubt I'll ever invest again in a seasons commitment to be treated with such distain by the players who we've built up and worshipped -
Fonte out and Osvaldo stays Tadic in Lovren out Maybe its all about avoiding conflict?
-
anyone got the club calendar does Fonte appear between now and December, is Fonte on any club advertising? if he is that sure sign he's going !
-
yes would cost £2m a year to stick him in reserves and leave him there, no international football, no league football and the club would be in charge, he's under contract, if he strikes fine him , individual offense each 1st team game he makes himself unavailable. £2m would be cheap to show players the club is in charge of transfers not them and not their agents
-
so just add conspiracy to the pot, known for 6 months and he didn't push Saints onto a European placing???????????
