What difference does it make whether it was done for a racist reason or not? The behaviour was offensive regardless. The overall reaction has gone over the top though, I guess football + racism will always get people heated more than other issues.

When Rodriguez is back fit, they'll be a selection headache even for the bench going by that.
-
Yeah, I know that, was just thinking in effect if we do lose him, we've had a class player for a season without having to pay any transfer or loan fee for him; still a really good deal for us, even if it won't feel like that if we lose him.
-
What would the £1.5m cover? The loan fee we'd have paid for him this season maybe? We've still got a good deal out of it, but gutting to lose such a class player. Why don't fans use his surname?

Did someone mention recently that a “Supporters Liaison Officer” or something similar was now in place at the club? Any update on what/when we’re going to hear from them on?
-
See the "Public Schoolboy" who has had all his background details, name, place of work etc plastered over the media and even this thread, but has no evidence of him either pushing the bloke or singing anything, he's just stood on the train.

Really fast, I never expected them to sell anywhere near that quickly, Sunday lunchtime on tv etc.

Southampton, the erosion of goodwill and tribal truths
Sour Mash replied to Lallana's Left Peg's topic in The Saints
I haven't noticed any of that sort of behaviour from other fans. Generally a compliment if we're not always liked and no-one wants to be seen as the plucky underdogs all the time anyway. -
Just seen that cheapest seats for Man City fans away at Barcelona next week were £74, plus booking fee, maybe we're not ready for that

That Jordan Ibe is really going to test Targett all game. Real pity Bertrand is missing for these key games.

Is Sterling being rested for our game?

Exactly that, bullying idiots, but talk of prison sentences and the overall reaction is well over the top. I wonder if they'll be an equally sized social media hunt for the perpetrators of this? http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/this-flat-blacks-only-shocking-5193505

She does seem keen and very engaged, she'll sell one day, but it doesn't look like it'll be too soon. I can't see how buying a football club of our size and current stature would be a particularly worthwhile investment for anyone with £100m+, but I guess the Premier League will continue to attract people for one reason or another.

Agreed. Anfield was ridiculous. Loads of songs all game and then he came on and played a part in their winner.
-
Some of the stuff about us being bigger than Man Utd in the States was a bit laughable, but he's spot on about the potential for growth in that market - "soccer" as a whole over the next few years is going to keep expanding hugely.

Parts of Brooklyn are great and would be a lot cheaper than Manhattan island. Subway is fast and very cheap if you just get a weekly pass, can get around anywhere within 20mins.
-
Yeah, I know its the Itchen, was just curious to see if they've taken up "ordinary seats" to make up this package or if they're part of the existing corporate hospitality seats.
-
Whereabouts in the ground are the seats being offered by the club as part of this additional/external corporate package? Additional to the seats normally allocated for corporate hospitality?

Rodriguez given the all-clear and set to return next month

His agent has got to be pretty active in all this. Pushing Saints for a bigger contract offer? -

I still can't make out what will happen to Rodriguez. Will he still be an attractive enough prospect for Spurs/Liverpool/Man City whoever come the summer to part with a big transfer fee and a large transfer? -
Interesting to see that UKIP detractors feel the need to go to the lengths of making up a fantasy drama about the party, rather than just arguing and debating the points at hand or ignoring the party as a whole.

Saints could be set to tour North America or Japan this summer
Sour Mash replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Irony being, if we qualify for Europe, nothing pre-season wise will seem overly interesting. -

I thin its quite a short pre-season this year, with next season starting quite early August and there being a round of international games in early June. I had a feeling we'd look at America or Canada, seems to be the place to go for pre-season these days and Krueger must have some contacts in that regard. -
On a related point, does it work like this; If we finish 4th, we have to play 1 x two leg qualifier to enter the CL group stage. If we finish 5th, we're automatically in the EL group stage. If we finish 6th we have to play 1 x two leg qualifier to enter the EL group stage If we finish 7th and get a European place, is it 2 x two leg qualifier to enter the EL group stage? Not sure if any of that is right.

I like the bloke, think he comes over well, even taking the American/Canadian phrases into account which don't help him at times!
