Crazy prices for a regular game of league football.

Should a Jewish Spurs supporter be banned for chanting "Yids" in support of Spurs at one of their games?
-
Fair play, you are right, it is disingenuous for you or I to speak on their behalf. Put forward some accounts of people being put off going to football then?
-
So only black and gay people can be offended and no-one else? How many black or gay people have you recently canvassed on their views?
-
Who cares if they "come out"? Why is this so important for you? Pretty much anything can be found offensive - I know some people can't stand constant swearing, should that be banned as well? No-one that I know, across a wide section of football fans, really care what is chanted at a game of football - why should anyone be all that bothered with what others are singing and chanting at a footballer 100 yards away.
-
Is anyone really that bothered by what is shouted/chanted at a game of football? It's not direct abuse towards them as an individual is it?

Was there in '98, cracking game. Only win I've seen in about 12 visits to the place.

Debate needed on veils in some public places, says minister

Fair enough, but not at Birmingham College. Could become a worrying trend. -

What happened at Birmingham College last week should be a worry for most of us. Not only are students now allowed to cover their faces on college premises, classes and tutorials, totally at odds with the basics of communication and safety in such an environment, but it has also sent the message that certain sections of the community can get the College to back-track when enough pressure and threats are applied. -
BUt plenty didn't back him for England. And it wasn't the whole of last season, but a period of 7 or 8 games. For me, his touch, vision and finishing aren't good enough, but we feel the need to include him as he's our only player that can run at the opposition with the ball and is very good at working hard to close down the opposition.

1 - Not sure how much Wanyama is a defensive upgrade on Cork. 2 - Agree, Lovren has been class. 3 - They both have plenty of promise and potential, but Chambers is still a very long way off being a £15m player. 4 - Hope you're right on that one, Schneiderlin was a key player for us last season, if he's not at his best, we're a weaker team. 5 - Not really a change from last season, Boruc was our first choice for a large chunk of it. His kicking at times puts our defence under unnecessary pressure. 6 - I don't think anyone knows yet what our best attacking line up is or how to get the most out of the undoubted talent we have in those positions, don't think MP has worked it out yet either. 7 - Agreed, very strong bench, with some very good players missing out, not sure how well the subs have been used though, JWP generally isn't a game changer for me when chasing a winner. 8 - Full marks to MP for showing faith in our academy products, if anything too much at times. Don't think the football we've played is in anyway innovative or particularly different to a lot of other clubs in the league, no shame in that though. 9 - Our problem is pace, but not in individuals, but the speed we move the ball at times, too slow and often all played in front of the opposition.
-
But Cork was 2nd place in our player of the season last year and rightly lauded for a turn around in our fortunes, Puncheon was pretty popular when he played last year and Sharp hasn't been mentioned on this thread, so your point really doesn't hold much validity.

Depends which bit of town you're looking at, but it's probably one of the best cities in the country for proper real ale boozers, you'll have plenty to choose from. Nothing decent near the ground as far as I know.
-
Will be very interesting to see what our approach is to this game; will we try and press? Flood the midfield? Who to pick out of Lambert, Osvaldo, Lallana, Rodriguez, JWP, Ramirez. I wouldn't mind seeing Davis get a run out, as he can provide that link between attack and midfield, while still providing a an extra combative body in midfield. Back 5 won't change unless there are any injuries.
-
I've got no problem with Wanyama's performances for us, the thing I feel is that Cork brought the best out of Schneiderlin last season, Wanyama's partnership doesn't seem to be doing that. Just seems a strange thing to choose to disrupt.
-
Jesus, don't flatter yourself. You do come across as a try hard know it all on here though.
-
So your point about people's opinions of players going up when they're not playing is cleary wrong. Keep up sunshine.
-
Was Cork not voted 2nd best player of last season?
-
Southampton need Gastón Ramírez to pull them together in midfield

Pretty much agree with that, he must have been worth 20mins today at least? -
Should a Jewish Spurs fan be allowed to chant "Yids" in support of his team if he wants to? Yes or no?
-
Why? We had the best defensive midfield partnership in the country.

Once Adkins had a full strength team (Cork + Shaw) we played good, attacking football that didn't do us too bad in terms of results. We've now changed the manager, spent a fortune and have gone backwards and what's more are bloody dull to watch!
