  1. Lallana doesn't look like scoring? Norwich away hit the post with a cracking strike, WBA missed out on a goal with the tightest of offside decisions, Liverpool away tested their keeper when 1-on-1, should have done better with that one.
  2. He's nowhere near Le Tissier's level. Le Tissier never gave the ball away so often and so easily.
  3. Good point, unfair judging him against a team of the quality of Bristol City. Barnsley gave us loads of room in the previous round, Ramirez played quite well in that game without being outstanding.
  4. Going on this thread everyone that was at last night's game has the same view on his performance. Frustrating and not any closer to getting heavily involved in league games.
  5. I thought Davis made a couple of very good saves and had a pretty decent night all round. Lee looked lively first 20mins or so, but actually did very little and really faded as the game went on. Also thought Fox had a decent game. Guly was poor and I normally try and cut him some slack. Chambers and S. Davis our best players, Reed looked very good again when he came on. The second half was very poor though, everyone around us getting frustrated, I thought Bristol City played very well considering their position in the league and would have knocked us out if they were remotely competent at finishing their chances.
  6. I wasn't counting, but it must have been a lot. Let's see if MP actually plays him much over the coming weeks.
  7. Exactly that, sums up my thoughts. Took his goal tonight brilliantly, but otherwise pretty poor, gave the ball away throughout the first half and did very little in the second half. That Emannuel Thomas caused us problems all night, if they could take their chances we'd have been in a lot of trouble.
  8. Chambers or S. Davis man of the match for me. Ramirez very, very frustrating.
  9. They did the same for the pre-season game, didn't mention it anywhere it'd be £2 more on the day. I guess they know that once people have headed down the ground, they're going to pay it regardless, but how many really fancy paying £20 (not much less than West Brom or Arsenal away tickets) for tonight's match?
  10. Watched the Sky extended highlights back last night and Osvaldo did appear to give the ball away too easily on a number of occasions and put us back under pressure, but you can definitley see his quality when he has the ball at his feet around the opposition box. Thought Lallana was excellent, his best game for us for a while Would like to see more of S. Davis in games, particularly away from home. Our back 5 look outstanding at the moment. We were lucky with the Sturridge penalty shout and Rodgers' very strange team selection.
  11. I think the bloke is quality to be fair, very entertaining. Not a particularly good manager though and will be gone by Xmas with Sunderland bottom of the league.
  12. Stewards were an absolute nightmare again up there yesterday, didn't come remotely close to getting the people at the back to sit down, so why spend so much time P*****g off people at the front who are trying to watch the game?
  13. F*****g boss! Long train home goingto be rocking.
  14. Maybe not about Champs League, but what about the rest of the stuff about our team being as good as any other in the league?
  15. This fund is meant to apply to away matches. I agree with the OP, Liverpool's approach to this has been the best.
  16. Yep, going to be at least a 2 month break in the middle of the season I'd guess.
  17. Plenty of people are bothered about it. England home game still get 60k+ even when playing Moldova, the country still gets massively into any major tournament.
  18. Yet another clear example of the corruption and incompetence of the people that "run" the game of football at a world level, disgusting.
  19. No, I think the most any club in the PRem needs to offer away fans is 3k.
  20. With your finger on the pulse over in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, adding nothing to the debate apart from criticising other posters. Unfortunately for you Spurs fans aren't going to stop using the word any time soon, if anything it's increased as a result of this campaign.
  21. Why do they need to understand the historical implications of the term? They use it to show their support or dislike of Tottenham Hotspur football club and their supporters, both Jewish and non-Jewish and "Yid" is just the term that has stuck. 99% of people that use it really couldn't give a stuff about Judaism one way or another, it's just the slang term used for Spurs. My mates have no problem with other Spurs fans using the term. Why would they? They know it's just the term that's became associated with Spurs supporters, nothing really more or less than that. The only people that want to make a big deal out of it are those on the outside who don't understand it. The difference between making a hissing sound and using the term "Yids" is a straight forward one - One is taking the p**s out of the gassing of Jews in the Holocaust, the other is a term used to refer to Spurs/Spurs supporters.
  22. Because the use of the word "Yid" at games of football, either as a form of abuse or a form of support in no-way contributes to anti-semitisim in this country. I've got very good mates who are Jewish Spurs fans who love giving it the "Yid" shout and couldn't give a f**k if an opposing fan shouts it back at them as abuse - they're more than capable at standing up for themselves and giving as good as they get. They have never experienced any kind of anti-semitism living and working in this country all their lives and consider the "Yid" thing a football thing, not something they've ever heard or used away from football. The only anti-semitism you would see in London these days is the young Hasidic Jews getting stick off the local rude boys in Stamford Hill, but that's much more to do with them being an easy and obvious target than anything anti-Jewish.
  23. Yes, as we'll be on our way to a 2nd holocaust if he doesn't....
  24. So you can't explain why it is important, but would rather have a dig at me as a poster, fair enough.
