  1. Spurs game on Saturday now confirmed called off.
  2. Pretty sure it now has a roof. Also pretty sure it's not exactly the nicest part of Yorkshire.
  3. I've seen him play and he didn't look that bad - what have you been expecting to see from a 3rd choice keeper for a third division side for the last couple of years? Also all the stories about him "hitting a girl because some lads heckled him" - yeah I'm sure that's true, bet he's been arrested for it as well? Whereas Barnard is still lauded as a hero by many on here? I couldn't care less about Forecast, he might be a bit of a knob, probably gets paid a bit more than he should and obviously isn't exactly the best keeper in the world, but why do we have to have a thread about him each week on here?
  4. A proper 3rd choice keeper? Forecast was/is no-where near as bad as many on here make out - he's probably on a lot more money than most 3rd choice keepers should be on, but that's hardly his fault. The fascination by some on here about the bloke is borderline weird.
  5. Yes, you suggested it was different situation to that of a white person in a similar situation (so does race matter or not) - you clearly have lots of first hand expereince of this sort of environment, lets here it?
  6. Mikey as you're an expert, why don't you tell us about being "an underprivileged black youth in a white country"? You seem to have first hand and detailed knowledge of what it is like yes?
  7. It might be harder, but it’s far from impossible. Your excuses to a huge disservice to all those decent people that grow up without money, on estates, single parent families and work their @rse off to get to uni or do a dull, cr@ppy job to earn a living rather than robbing from others. Go to South Bank University, near Elephant and Castle and tell me people from a VERY wide variety of backgrounds don't get the opportunity to go to University in this day and age. People must be made responsible for their own actions and their own decisions.
  8. The vast, vast majority of people in this country have the opportunity to go to school, to college, university, to work and earn a living. Unfortunately too many CHOOSE not to.
  9. He hasn't said anything racist.
  10. You're one of the oddest posters on here which really takes some doing.
  11. No they don't contradict at all. There are lots of different issues/causes and no one answer. Ok, would you prefer if we referred to there being a problem with large sections of "black sub-culture" as oppossed to purely "black people"?
  12. I fully understand the point - see my response to Verbal.
  13. Yes, I fully understand the psychology of crowds thanks, it's not that complicated. So tell us about these mobs and crowds at the Brighton game? The whole thing was so far off being a "mob" it's not even funny. Some people around me took their time during the game slowly and carefully unscrewing their seat to keep it intact, completely oblivious to what those around them were/weren't doing, the stewards (Guardians of the club in practice on the day) watched on perfectly happy with what was happening, some people didn't bother with their seats because they just couldn't be @rsed. I fully understand your comparison about the behavious of individuals in crowds doing stuff that they may not do otherwise as an individual, but you're seriously barking up the wrong tree with this one I'm afraid old son. Better luck having a dig at Saints fans on your next attempt.
  14. Scum!
  15. But surely you would agree that there is a close link between "gangster" culture and black communities/youths? Have you heard or seen the videos of a lot of rap and grime "artists"? There is an intrinsic cultural link there. The prevalence and follow-on from "yardie" culture that is still looked up to and aspired to by large numbers of black youths. Yes, class and other issues also play a significant part, but you are burying your head in the sand if you don't think race plays a part in this at all.
  16. Mob took over that day? No it didn't you berk. If anything the day was too quiet, too chilled out and too slow paced. There were stewards stood around perfectly happy while people took parts of the ground. Not one person had a complaint about the day. I couldn't care less what your odd ball memory or morals might be telling you now, you senile old fool, you didn't do harm to one single individual or organisation by taking your seat so get over it for f***s sake!
  17. Gutted, as was excited about hearing the reports of vandalism and robbery that day, innocent people intimidated and property owners gutted by the destruction of their property. All I can remember is everyone having a laugh together, stewards and club officials happy for people to take what they want and the club seeing the day as a massive success and a great day in our history Don't ever post about Saints or Saints fans again, you utter, utter cretin.
  18. I take it you were at the Dell that day? Tell us all about the mob scenes that you saw
  19. That makes no difference. A lot of the big Prem teams (pretty sure Spurs and Arsenal) include first couple of cup games in the price of their season ticket, so away fans have no say. Not saying I'd agree with doing it though, I want my season ticket to just be for league games and I'll make my own decision on the early cup rounds, they should have probably knocked a couple of quid off the £14 and they would have got a few more in, but it's not that bad a crowd and a good reminder to the our board and others around the country that fans only have a finite amount to spend on football and it isn't a never ending cash cow.
  20. You're either p****d or just generally off your head. "Mass frenzy of fans ripping up seats" - I was in block 5 of the Archers at the time (liveliest part of the Dell back then) and there was no "mass frenzy", nothing like it, calm, relaxed, having a laugh, unscrewing seats carefully to actually look after and value them for what they are (part of our history) - "the authorities stood by", becasue neither they, nor anyone else was bothered about it, becasue nothing wrong was happening. What a weird thing to bring up.
  21. Anyone who would even think about comparing the last game at the Dell to what we've seen in the last three or four days in any way, shape or form must be off their head on crack. Is this a wind-up that I don't get?
  22. Ha, all those £1 coins (or sneaky 20ps) would be worth quite a bit!
  23. That Southeastern deal is mental. Used it for Derby away trains, but wish I'd got on it for other trips, stupid prices.
  24. Simple formula - make the thought of committing a crime/going to jail etc less appealing than grafting in a dull, tough job. At the moment too many youths are happy to choose one way of life over the other.
  25. I agree that it shows that as a society as a whole we have failed. The reasons and/or solutions I think we'd disagree on though.
