  1. Policing was an absolute joke. Why such a massive downscaling of their operation from the Leeds game? Huge difference. And if there is one club you would put extra measures in for (apart from the Skates) is Millwall. Plenty of them steaming through the Northam carpark after the game as women and kids came out and the only thing that stopped them in their tracks was normal Saints fans refusing to be chased off, well before the police or stewards got their act together. If there is a game even with a relatively small chance of trouble they close the north car park, so you do have to wonder why they left it completey open for a game like this, did they want it to kick off?
  2. Absolutely massive amounts of empty seats at that West Ham game as a result of segregation from what I could see. Not a great crowd in yesterday, but certainly not a bad one either. I would like to think we could get well over 25k on a regular basis if this form keeps up.
  3. London an hour away, beaches of Bournemouth nearby, New Forest, the city's parks, West Quay, safer for them to go out more. Not that I know anything whatsoever about bringing up kids, but I suggest that's a terrible age to try and get them to move, should have done it 10 years ago or wait until they're off to Uni.
  4. Well said.
  5. That's what I said at the start of the thread. I am all for strong sentencing, but some of these are just plain stupid.
  6. Ha, just read through a bit more of it and they are absolutely clueless, going on about how we're better suited to the Championship because of our pace, power, directness etc, about as far off the truth as you can get - its been our one touch, patient football that has stood out a mile.
  7. It still absolutely cracks me up how much some of them don't like us. So far off the radar they make Bournemouth look important.
  8. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure we haven't had "Members" for quite some time - just season ticket holders and "others". Not sure if I understand your 2nd question?
  9. These look even more harsh when you read how you can get away with rioting and not having to go to prison http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23979034-footballers-offer-frees-riot-suspect.do
  10. Exactly - strange analysis, we were much better than Leeds. Also we were much better against Ipswich than we were against Barnsley, genuine cutting edge, real creativity going forward, little of which I saw at Barnsley.
  11. Connolly was excellent first half, had a strange 2nd half. As you say gave the ball away a few times, had a right go at Seaborne after they got their first, then looked very hit and miss after that, giving the ball away for their 2nd. Would still have him in my starting 11 all day long.
  12. That is over the top!
  13. Where did I say you that you can take military decisions in the complete absence of a political framework? I said nothing of the kind.
  14. You know what I mean if you read/quote my whole post properly. I am all for everyone involved being prosecuted fully by the law - but from what I see, the more serious criminals seem to have got away with it and the police have picked the softest/easiest targets. Lets see how many they really do go after in the next couple of months or if their promise to go after each and every one of them wanes once something else is flavour of the month in the news.
  15. You should do. Could have a massive effect on the City of Southampton.
  16. Also, from a lot of the reports I've seen, they seem to have caught more of the naive idiots that grabbed bits and pieces out of the shops once they shops had already been raided and were "soft" targets for the police, as oppossed to the serious groups out doing serious damage, all with their faces completely covered that the police decided to stand off and were too scared to get involved with. Haven't seen too many of them being arrested and charged.
  17. Believe it or not I agree. Also, do any of the legal experts on here know if some of the over the top sentencing will open up the chance for appeals/compensation for some of those sentenced?
  18. That's probably, because like most football fans (myself included) they go on the players "name" and previous reputation, rather than how they are actually currently playing.
  19. I went on the website and clicked on "Latest Ticket Office News" and got this http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1761089,00.html Our ticket office is hard work to say the least these days, don't know if its just us, but they certainly don't seem in any rush to release away tickets for sale.
  20. Don't think the clip on Sky Sports showed it in full, but Lallana's skill in the build up for the third is worth hunting down mate, absolute top draw bit of football.
  21. Has to be Cork - I honestly hadn't realised he'd be this good, he has been comfortably Prem class so far.
  22. What a great game of football. We were excellent first half and some of our play, particularly the build up for each of our goals was sublime. However, just to temper some of the slightly over-excitable reactions on here, as with the Barnsley game, we were some very scrappy defending from letting our lead slip. When it went 3-2 everyone around me thought they'd pull it back to 3-3 - for the first 30 mins of the 2nd half they battered us and we really did miss a Jaidi figure to block/clear effectively at times. I think it will give Adkins enough cause to worry and I wouldn't be suprised if we buy a centre back within the next week or so. Fonte has struggled a touch in both games in my eyes when coming under pressure.
  23. But he's kind of got a point - we really don't know how the politics of it would pan out - it would be hard to call from many angles - what we do know is what we can do from a military point of view and to be fair Delldays should know better than most of us. If it was that easy for Argentina to take back the Falklands, how come they haven't just strolled in?
  24. Yep, always comes out with cracking posts!
  25. Well yes, I sort of agree with you, each situation is different and there is little point in guessing at obscure scenarios. Also the semantics of what we mean by "world power and/or influence" will always be open to interpretation. I guess it is largely down to our own individual interpretation of the world we see around us and I certainly still see us as a significant and respected nation across most corners of the globe.
