  1. True, none of us know what has or hasn't happened either way. Definite shame though whichever way you look at it.
  2. You are of course entitled to your opinion, but I really don't think Barnard makes us "tick", neither do I think he's anywhere near as good a player as Connolly. Don't get me wrong, I like Barnard, happy he has signed a new contract, but he doesn't have the footballing brain of a Lallana, Connolly or Lambert.
  3. What a wasted talent. I'm actually surprised (maybe a bit naively), as didn't realise she was that badly gone. People around her, including her family should take a look at themselves for not seriously gettting her sorted out once and for all.
  4. Agreed, thought he was our best player at the end of last season, not at the games today, but saw both matches in Switzerland and he was excellent in those. I'm expecting our first choice attack to be him and Lambert.
  5. With werder so close to the start of their season, I'm surprised they've agreed to trek over here and p**s about in such a tournament, can't see why it'd be massively appealing for them.
  6. Its not about moaning, its about fans only having so much money to spend and in the end frendlies like this will suffer in terms of attendance - a shame for all concerned!
  7. He played 45 mins out in Switzerland and actually looked reasonably decent.
  8. I could very well be wrong, but I think when this came up on the forum a few months, the £600k was only for half a year, meaning his salary was over £1 million?
  9. Exactly. And also the point that if we can't do anything about something it means you can't comment or criticise it - would make this whole site obsolete.
  10. Just tried to renew on-line for it to continually fail at payment stage, what an absolute pile of s***e!
  11. I love a moan as much as anyone, but that is just pushing it a bit! How the f**k the Daily Echo can run an article on it is even more sad

  13. Ticket details (sort of) for the St Gallen game, cheaper than for their game against Dortmund, but still quite pricey for a pre-season match. https://fcsg-ticket.showare.ch/HallPlanNavigator.aspx?e=136
  14. No because they'd won it well before the end of the season, with plenty of games to spare, that is what the record books will show. Therfore it does not matter what happened after that as they had already won it comfortably. "They were in a comfortable position for a fair while" - they topped the league from September to the end of the season.
  15. Exactly the same as me, always enjoyed it for what it is, won't ever buy it again now .
  16. I'm not saying Brighton are "anything to worry about" or that they'll "take the Championship by storm", but they're certainly a marker of what we'll be competing with next season in my opinion.
  17. They won it comfortably, I'm not sure why it makes you feel any better to try and believe otherwise.
  18. This is a very good addition for Brighton and one which I think could possibly push them towards being definite play off contenders. Brighton won League One comfortably last season. They've now bought the best player from that league and with it shown a real intention to kick on next season. I'm certainly not panicking like some on here and it is still very early days, but the standard of competition is definitely rising.
  19. Not really. There are plenty of instances of a full first team being put out, that is one of the reeasons why a team is often described as a XI, to tell fans that it will be a reserve side, i.e. Saints at Kettering.
  20. Weren't a pop at your thread as such mate, as its asking a slightly different question - we will sell more season tickets than last year for lots of obvious reasons - promotion, playing the Skates among others. Could the club have sold more tickets? In my opinion they definitely could, but it's impossible to ever actually "know" either way.
  21. We'll sell plenty of season tickets and more than we did last year for obvious reasons. Will we sell as many as we realistically could have? Not at all, but we've had that debate many times before.................
  22. Yeah, what idiots, you'd have thought they'd be doing most of their campaigning in posh, rural villages wouldn't you.........................
  23. It isn't a "completely fatuous comparison" - it was a response to a post saying that you had to pay a lot for tickets if you wanted success. Season tickets being available at Fulham for £395 shows that is not the case, regardless of what you think of that club and the way it is run.
  24. Although scrolled to the bottom of that article on the OS to see the Carlsberg logo as one of our Partners still!
  25. Grolsch is definitely an improvement, although I'm not sure how much they'll charge for it, as it seems to always fall into the "Premium" category in pubs. Southampton Ale sounds good as well, even for the novelty value alone.
