  1. We would have finished higher, he would have stepped up when Pelle went missing for half the season.
  2. Reed doing himself no harm. JUST PLAY HIM RONALD!!
  3. His dad is a big Man u fan although he lives just outside Basingstoke now. Chuck in Schneiderlin and we have a deal.
  4. One of our best players yesterday, he's developing and adapting to the British game. He'll be a decent signing for us. Not to bothered with the fact he was subbed yesterday as we have 2 must win league games this week and we have no Wanyama on Wednesday. Who he was replaced by is the issue.
  5. I was going to post in here last night but decided to give myself a sleep on it to re-evaluate and get a bit more sense out of yesterday's game Firstly, it was always going to be a tough game, Palace are a good side and Pardew has got them well organised and playing some decent football. Well done to them and good luck for the rest of the FA Cup campaign. Onto us, tactically all wrong - 5 in defense at home against a team playing 1 up front (Frazier Campbell too!) is bad enough, but to wait until half-time to change it is almost unforgivable. I just don't get the negative tactics, yesterday was a game that we could have expressed ourselves, had a real go and not really been bothered too much if it hadn't have worked. We started ok, had a few half chances but , as usual, shot ourselves in the foot. We looked relatively comfortable defensively until they score. I still cannot comprehend how one of the greatest defenders the game has ever seen, can be in charge of a team that consistently makes defensive errors. I'm usually one of Targett's first critics but I felt he did well yesterday against a tricky winger in Zaha. Mane looked bright, as did VVD, Clasie and Martina. Big questions however over Yoshida, Fonte, Davis and Stek for me. On another day we could have nicked a draw, but wasn't to be. A bit of bad luck, yes. But poor tactics, poor substitutions and defensive errors cost us.
  6. It's fine because we have nothing to fear from Stoke and Palace (2 league and 1 cup defeat) because our summer transfer dealings were spot on compared to them buying Cabeye etc. Fwiw Cabeye would be our best midfielder by a country mile.
  7. Those Liverpool youngsters were ****.
  8. Personally think we'll win 1-0 from a scrappy affair. Wouldn't really change too much team wise. Gazza Martina Fonte Stephens Bertrand (not Targett as he'll get ripped to shreds by Zaha) Clasie Reed Tadic Davis Mane Long They're a good side but depends what team they put out. Wouldn't necessarily throw too many youngsters in too soon, may work but have a feeling it may disrupt things a little more than some people hope.
  9. Something which Pelle can't do, despite being built like a brick ****house.
  10. But they still copy the article from another source?
  11. I stopped reading when I saw who wrote the article.
  12. He said good signings, not ones who's Saints career was shared for half a season with each other.
  13. Nope, I just play the seasons against the computer and the online leagues. Don't, and have no intention to, understand the card thingy - thought Pokemon cards went out of fashion years ago!
  14. The Madden series is getting a little samey as the last 3 haven't really changed much (apart from updated rosters). The best American Football games were the NCAA series, however they discontinued that a few years back.
  15. I have FIFA 15 and am debating whether or not to get 16 as there are some good deals on at the moment. Is it worth upgrading or just transferring Clasie/VVD over on my 15 version?
  16. Yesterday was the first time I've seen him play and, apart from the wonder-strike, I was genuinely impressed by him. Looked fairly solid and I felt far more comfortable with him at RB than Cedric. Let's give him a run of games and see what happens.
  17. We looked so much better without him yesterday, it showed how little he actually contributes to us.
  18. Great performance, refreshing to see that we really can play well as a team and don't have to rely on certain liabilities. Seems no coincidence to me that we remove Pelle from the side due to "injury" and we look a completely different side going forward, as others have referenced, Long's comments post-match must have been referenced to him and his constant moaning. Great to see Martina show we do have a decent right back at the club. Most surprising is the way Arsenal couldn't handle pace up front, despite all the pace they have going forward - what exactly do they do in training?
  19. The Dutch Paul Konchesky!!
  20. Didn't realise that "playing ****e for a number of weeks" is a form of injury (Pelle and Cedric)
  21. I asked the question last year when he went on his long barren run. Is he a good player who is going through a bad patch, or an average player who went through a purple patch previously. My thoughts last season were the latter and I've seen nothing to convince me otherwise. Replacement needed ASAP and let's give Seagar a go.
  22. This thread is ever-more relevant this season. Looks like we'll be having an annual "Pelle's gone missing" discussion around this time of year. An OK player, nothing better, can't be relied upon
  23. I agree with this, Pelle's lack of ability and mentality to challenge for the ball in the air really limits us. I appreciate he won't win every header, but most of the time he doesn't even both challenging. We've essentially bought a 6"4 brick ****ehouse who is scared to head the ball. I'd have Lambert over him all day. He's not the only one who isn't performing to his ability, we need a striker who can score goals and we need one soon, otherwise we're f*cked.
  24. I am a critic of Pelle, and rightfully so, he simply isn't prolific enough for us to rely on as an option. Now 6.5 games without a goal (he went 11 games at around this time of the year last season) and he doesn't look like scoring. I'm not buying the Wrestling and Shirt pulling excuse, as this happens in every game and has done for years, yet some players still find a way of scoring. We simply cannot rely on a striker who goes missing for large chunks of the season.
  25. well we can't rely on Pelle.
