  1. Our lack of a goal threat is worrying, they're vulnerable at the back but our strikers have shown that we can't rely on any of them to score consistently enough at this level.
  2. Why are they? awful performances and terrible run of form. Isn't getting the key players going. Would you rather wait until after the transfer window has closed?
  3. They're desperate, but surely not that desperate?
  4. I'm not suggesting we will, we'd need to top-up what we get for Long to bring someone else in. Very frustrating that JRod is eating up a big chunk of the wage bill despite not being fit for 18 months
  5. We need a striker who can score consistently, that is all.
  6. We need a striker desperately, and if it means selling Long to bring in someone who scores more consistently then I'm all for it. When the first thing someone says is "he works hard" about a striker, it says it all really. I'd say we have 3 recognised strikers in our squad: Pelle, Long and Rodriguez (Mane is more of a winger IMO) and neither of them are prolific enough to warrant consistent PL starting places. Pelle is too inconsistent and a bit of a liability, Long isn't prolific enough and Rodriguez can't stay fit. If we're to achieve anything this season, we need to buy a goal scorer, and not go for the cheap option when doing so!
  7. Nail on the head. The arrogance and ignorance of some Saints fans is bemusing and somewhat comical at times.
  8. My point was that the article, published before the season started, arrogantly shrugged off Palace and Stoke as not being rivals to Saints as we were doing the best thing in the transfer market by taking the cheap option. I also reference the part of the article where the author states we got a better deal with Claise than Palace did with Cabaye. The "awkward" part is that both Palace and Stoke have beaten us in the past few weeks and Cabaye scored the winner. I'd very much say they've both given us something to fear.
  9. "Saints have nothing to fear [Palace and Stoke]" Awkward
  10. Anyone but Walker. He's a slightly faster Danny Butterfield.
  11. you mean the fact that he's now playing at a much higher level than he did for Saints?
  12. You seem to be confusing facts and opinions. What many think is that he is a manager good enough to be managing in the PL. The fact he got us promoted twice is fact, not an opinion. We all have an opinion on what constitutes a Legend. You have your reasons for calling him a legend, I have my reasons for not classing him as one.
  13. A team that has spent the most money in the summer and has the biggest wage bill in the league by a country mile. He should be doing better, sadly I can't see it working for him. Fans are starting to realise he isn't the manager many on here think he is.
  14. Forget having a debate about whether or not they'll loan KD, Adkins is struggling massively and is, unsurprisingly, being tactically outclassed, most weeks.
  15. Another one of NA's quality transfer decisions....
  16. correct - although he still lives just outside Basingstoke
  17. Getting back on point about Gallagher, he hasn't scored for them yet. Seems to be struggling a little according to the MK fan I know - thinks he may be carrying an injury. As others have pointed out, they've bought in another forward player which has dropped SG further down the pecking order. Will be interesting to see how he does between now and xmas.
  18. Why does anyone believe anything Journalists say?
  19. What's the point? I doubt this game will sell out even on the day!
  20. Some big earners in our squad...
  21. Yeah, we could play him up front with Lewandowski and Messi...
  22. JWP inclusion justified. Great start.
  23. Need to win this one. It'll be tough, but I think we'll do it. Going for 1-0 Tadic.
  24. Whilst it was pleasing to see him run back and make a challenge at the end of the game, I suggest you re-watch the first United goal and watch a certain striker who "doesn't get enough credit for his workrate" completely bottle a straight-forward header with a United midfielder (the ball then finds it way to Martial who does the rest...). Whilst some of his movement is decent, his attitude stinks. He's forever moaning at other people for every slight mistake. The tracking-back against United is one of the very few moments I remember him actually busting a testicle for the side. We certainly do need to learn to play without him. As others have pointed out, he's only scored 2 PL goals away from SMS, I don't think he fits into our style of play away from home.
