  1. The irony of creating a new thread moaning about how many threads there are on one specific subject
  2. Bloody hell, if Ferguson left Man U someone would put up one of these threads
  3. O'Neill, but I'm perfectly happy with Pardew, as he is the best we could hope for and there isn't a hope in hell O'Neill would come here.
  4. Force. Power. Courage (literally) although it's a bit difficult to be totally accurate without the context, arabic is an incredibly complicated language due to it's 'word root' structure. Also some specific words can mean 15-20 different things.
  5. The Sun probably have a special letterbox just for libel cases
  6. especially when about 10 threads are started about by and large the same thing, all with the purpose of slating one individual
  7. Anyone know when those 3 have their court cases?
  8. far prefer the old one personally
  9. Yes they have, until their current, totally unserviceable outgoings start creating more and more debt.
  10. haven't won the opening game of a season since '99 The season is a long one and we need to get on to a winning run. Once we get a couple of wins the confidence will be up and we'll be away. We really missed Lallana and Lambert today, we just kept faltering in the final third and with the chances we did create Plymouth defended very well. We have to play at a higher tempo and not resort to hoofball. With Lambert is can be excusable because he is so dangerous in the air, but today it was incredibly aimless overall
  11. The key is whether they get promoted next season. If they do and can stay in the PL for a few years then they truly have got away with it If they don't then the slow lingering death is a real possibility

  13. I think Mann's judgement is very significant for football as a whole. He's given the green light for every football club to take the **** and Pompey have shown everyone just how to do it with little punishment
  14. snatching from the grasp of Crystal Palace I suspect

  16. Providing they don't go straight back up in the upcoming season. They've still got a half decent team even if losing the likes of KPB and JU.
  17. If they don't won't that break the CVA, meaning that HMRC can drag them back to court again?
  18. No, this has got a long way to go yet. 4 years to be precise. And we're still waiting for someone to takethem over and Riquelme to sign. .
  19. I think this is what AA knew all along. He knew the judge wouldn't have the balls to wind them up. It needs media pressure, depending on what chainrai's motives are and if the CVA gets broken they may well end up back in court again in the not too distant future. Don't be suprised to hear Pompey signing some loan players on very hefty wages before the start of the new season
  20. That fascinates me
  21. Sorry? I didn't realise someone had bought the club with the intent of piling £200 million in cash whilst this court case was going on. they're far from being out of the woods yet. The only chance of them going bust is if they fail to keep up to the CVA, and the tide of the media turns against them. Until that happens, clubs will continue to cheat because they know the judges won't have the balls to wind them up. Up to now, Pompey have shown the countries' football clubs how to recklessly overspend with very little consequence
  22. I don't think HMRC are even going to bother. It all depends on whether Pompey can keep to the CVA over the next 4 years, and whether they can get promoted back to the Premiership again in that time. Even without KPB and Utaka they've got a decent chance.
  23. they were always gonna win it. and they'll win the appeal. Let's not forget, if AA's CVA is as dubious as it seems and they fail to adhere to it, it'll all go back to court again. The key is, the extent of how much HMRC know the extent of the financial irregularities
  24. I get the impression that there are quite a few gems that could be used for the appeal. The case will go Pompey's way today IMO, it's a question of how much HMRC will have for the appeal, and if they lose that how able Pompey are to stick to the dubious CVA and whether the figures were massaged enough to bring it all back to court again. I still wonder if we are only part of the way through a HMRC masterplan, and whether HMRC know the full extent of the dodgy financial dealings. The cynical side of me still suggests today is a case of, If HMRC win, great If HMRC lose, another rope giving session for PFC until the next inevitable court date
  25. Speaking as a financial numpty, Even if Pompey win today and win the appeal, if they don't fulfill the CVA can they be dragged back to court again?
