  1. They had Rubin Kazan last year in the group stages and Rubin Kazan beat them in the Nou Camp. As for Spurs I think they've got a pretty good draw. Werder Bremen and FC Twente are very winnable games home and away. Man U as usual get an easy draw. Valencia without David Silva and David Villa is nowhere near as strong as last year. Chelsea and Arsenal should get through, although MSK Zilina have a short but sweet history against British clubs http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/7750021.stm
  2. if you are referring to the parachute payments they've been re-directed to the creditors

  10. There's a Brazilian in the Japanese team, Turks, Poles in the German team, goes on all over the place. Simone Perotta who won the world cup with Italy 4 years ago was born in Ashton-under-Lyme near Manchester
  11. isn't the game on five live tonight?
  12. Because they could only have got a points deduction if they came out of admin without an agreed CVA, and it isn't guaranteed yet anyway Their still in admin with an agreed CVA in place (although whether it will be kept to, many have serious doubts) when they come out. Another factor is 'arry, Storrie and Mandaric are up before the beak for tax evasion in October and if found guilty, this could result in a points deduction.
  13. and then liquidate the club immediately once having taken over. Have we stumbled on to HMRC's plan B?
  14. Completely disagree I haven't seen anyone mention Lord Cortese Don't forget Cortese has only been here a year, and the fact that he saved our club with liebherr (whilst wonderful) has understandably kept people in the "thinking he can do no wrong" mindset
  15. you just know Davies will score against us lol
  16. Depends, He may be desperate for first team football, and at Roma that would be very unlikely. We'll just have to see how he performs but if he can take a player on and stretch our opponents maybe he is the spark that we need to break down sides that will get 10 men behind the ball. On the face of it he is just the sort of player we need. People have made valid points about the Delgado syndrome but the structure of the deal looks like it covers that to a degree
  17. Knowing The News I wouldn't be at all suprised
  18. That is a very popular car in Japan
  19. Things are looking bleak if Olivier Bernard has re-signed for us
  20. I don't think Croydon Athletic want him to let him go. Considering Burley once signed him as a replacement for Kieron Dyer for Ipswich I'm suprised Croydon have held out
  21. What's your take on this thing in the CVA which says the current company will be liquidated and a new one set up in 8 or 9 months time, allowing a complete forensic investigation to take place? I may have the timing wrong but this seems to be taking place just before Pompey have to come out of admin otherwise they wouldn't be let in the league under FL rules
  22. and their next 3 fixtures are Stoke at home, West Ham away Blackpool at home.
  23. as soon as the pundit on SSN said "we had started like an express train" just after describing the goal it was the kiss of death. Our attacking is too lethargic.
  24. Early results indicate this is going to be one long, tough season
