vast majority of games at Italia 90 were awful, it was the first world cup when diving really came to prominence thanks to Klinsmann and co. Also there was as much if not more negative play then than there was in this World Cup. Ireland got to the quarter finals scoring just two goals in the process. True, Cameroon were a breath of fresh air but overall the football was very poor. The fact that the backpass rule got introduced soon afterwards said it all. I think the other point is that Italia 90 was garnished with Puccini and Pavarotti, whereas this world cup was garnished with the monotonous drone of 50,000 vuvuzelas.

But that will set a very dangerous precedent and show every other club in the land how to live beyond your means for glory and if it does go tits up, get away with a minimal punishment. I cannot see HMRC not appealing, if they don't they are going to be in this situation again and again and lose out on more money than they may think in the long run with several different clubs.

It'll be closer to £700,000 than £7 million. Sure Boateng had a very good world cup but can't see him being sold for anything over a few million

Printing untruths and distortion about individuals in an attempt to suit the Mail's anti-immigration agenda certainly isn't. Skin colour has everything to do with it as far as the Mail is concerned, the whole article is designed to demonise immigrants (like pretty much all articles in the Mail) if it had been a white British family they'd have never have printed the story
-
I don't know what parts are true and what aren't as I don't know the people involved personally, but anything the Mail prints is twisted to suit their own agenda. They'll print practically anything they want to print just to sell papers and to breed more and more gullibility within their target audience, and not let hard working tax paying immigrants, emigration or facts get in the way.

Apparently Barce aren't actually in debt, they just don't have any liquid money at the moment because apparently some TV channel owes them over £100 million and hasn't paid up.

and it'll be a guide to every other club in the land on how to live beyond your means and escape with minimal punishment if it does go wrong

He's not bad although his 'authentic' accents can be irritating, especially when a hispanic team or Italy play

Now he is the most patronising commentator. Criticises anything that goes on, even if it's a world class piece of skill followed by a 35 yard shot going inches past the post instead of 'good effort; it's "oh he had other options, he should have at least gotr that on target" etc. etc.

was he officially classified as finishing?

Did AA write that?

Cos all they care about is their bank accounts. As for the handball Uruguay got the punishment they deserved (Suarez sent off, Ghana given penalty) but Ghana failed to capitalise. Besides at least the linesman saw the handball and a penalty was awarded. I could fully understand the uproar if they'd have missed the handball but they didn't, they gave it, made a very good decision but Gyan failed to score.

It's standard procedure when there is political interference from domestic governments in the running of the national football team Besides I think any FIFA ban would come after the one that has been imposed by the Nigerian government
