  1. Lesbian's shoplifters romp
  2. You're at the mercy of the sound men, they have the power to make a crowd sound good or crap. Although we probably bring a bit on ourselves as every other chant normally contains a few "****s", "****s" or "****s" usually aimed at our neighbours - and the TV don't approve of such language at primetime broadcasts!
  3. I think you're right, just thought I'd mention it before it's forgotten forever.
  4. I quite often have a brief browse of the oppositions forums before we play them to see what they're saying and I'd say almost every single one has a thread the same as ours having a pop at Lawro for "hating" them or calling him a ****.
  5. Now I know it's not going to happen but.....Saturday would be a good day to give the fan's flag a run out. They did say it would get an occasional airing so as it doesn't look like we'll be troubling a sell-out for Fulham's visit and being on TV it could cover some of those red seats behind one of the goals. I'm a bit surprised the club haven't offered these unsold areas for advertising banners before, prime locations for a spot of exposure for some business or other. Even the Saints Foundation. Would be good to see the ML flag again though, family permitting, of course.
  6. I'd have her in my defence too, with a face like that she'd scare the sh*t out of any striker.
  7. You forgot the local butchers - oh, hang on, did he come through the weekend unscathed? Not enough fingers.
  8. Also known as the infamous 'Curva Sud', home to the Chapel Ultras.
  9. Good point. Holds head in shame for forgetting that year.
  10. I'd take a stab at 73ish, the year we were both relegated.
  11. It doesn't but surely we're not talking 'burn-out' here, he's barely played in fair chunk of that time period. I think he's potentially a far better player than we'll ever see, someone else will get his best years.
  12. That's why they are doing something about it.
  13. Yes - as should every other club in this country because stadium atmospheres are just getting worse and live football is losing a big part of its culture. I've always been one for 'good old' English support but it just doesn't exist anymore, times have changed. Look around Europe, even some of the smaller, unfashionable club sides have fervent support. Look at St Gallen at Swansea recently and just about any set of European away fans in English grounds. It's loud, animated and constant. Over here every club seem to just sing the same few tunes, badly, and there's long spells of quiet throughout many matches. The Ayresome Park support in the 70/80s was cracking (tbh like most northern grounds). Raw, loud and passionate, so different from the Riverside has been. Good luck to them.
  14. This is the one they should have built. Esso could have chipped in along with ABP who may have got Dibden Bay if there was a decent road in and out. Of course it would also have meant that the long ago plans for a major link to from the Eastern Docks to the M27 at the Airport junction had actually come off. We eventually ended up with the half-hearted Thomas Lewis Way.
  15. It will always only go up 'a bit' year-on-year but at some point there'll be a 'limit'. That may very well have been reached now for some and over a season they'll just take in less games.
  16. I'm a season ticket holder and will continue to go but I can understand fans now picking and choosing games at these prices. That they'll probably choose the more attractive fixtures aint really much of a surprise, is it?
  17. And as a team we've improved significantly. The only conclusion to come to really is simply cost. Clubs have pushed it, and pushed it, fleecing the customer's loyalty, maybe fans have finally had enough. Football really is taking the p*ss.
  18. I wouldn't think that was too far out but possibility that Cody Cropper could feature somewhere? I believe he travelled with the first team squad to Anfield at the weekend while the U21s were beating Villa back at SMS.
  19. Had a very good day out (football aside) at the FA Cup game up there, the day we had all the Anfield Road end - wow, must be 20 years ago! Most of the pubs round there were rammed before the game, there were a lot of Saints fans up there early and were queueing down the street to get in the Arkles but we got in the King Harry before the game, place was full with a mix of both, bit edgy but (back then) a proper pre-match boozer. The Steve Moran 0-1 was a beauty though, everyone just went nuts on the terraces, this was when Liverpool were generally top dogs in England.
  20. Oops! Wrong pic, should have been Villa Park not Man City!
  21. That one's Villa (guess it was a typo) I can see our lot right at the back! Good day out.
  22. Standards are certainly slipping at 657 HQ these days, f'sure.
  23. As you say, he was born in Kent so they're probably his 'local' team. Although he had a 'weekend' home near Romsey the only time I'm aware of a connection to Saints is when he was linked to the Gavin Davies consortium that were reported to want to buy Southampton FC back in the 90s. Whether he ever went to games I don't know but he did used to go to the Emirates, as did Gavin Davies and numerous other London-based celebrities, how much of an Arsenal 'fan' he was is anyone's guess. I've also read before that he was fond of Nottm Forest as he had a trial there but turned down a Pro contract!
  24. I'll drink to that.
  25. Which includes about 20k Fulham fans and the rest aways/neutrals. Will the extra 5k seats be another 'Neutrals' area?
