Carragher yes but I find Gary Neville just about the best around. He’s fair to everyone, even when they are playing United, and he talks a lot of sense I think.
-
He's not a greedy sod like Salah.......after that you are on your own good luck
-
Nobody criticised playing him RB last week when he kept Grealish quiet.
-
Given their fixtures this would be a horrendous result for Brighton.
-
yeah, a draw is no good to them but a decent point for us.

Why is it unrealistic to expect a professional footballer who came from Bayern Munich remember to be able to pass a ball? I like PEH but let’s be honest, he’s nowhere near as good as Morgan was and in that bad run we had back in Oct/Nov he was by and large woeful. Thankfully he has improved in the last couple of months. Hooefully he will stay because I’m not confident the club would spend the money to get anyone better which in itself is a sad reflection of where we are under this current owner.

your chronology is off yes. The painting incident was Lowe, then as you say Cortese probably didn’t like being reminded the club had a history before he arrived. That seemed to be his Achilles heel which included throwing out all the old meetings/log books from The Dell days which were thankfully recovered from a skip.
-
yes they were both officially appointed a while ago

He’s not top 6 club level so the “big move” if it was in this country would be what? Everton or Wolves maybe. Cant see the big boys wanting him for the kind of money the club would want. Maybe Ralph is preparing us with his “Smallbone is the future” quote in the Echo

Totally agree, think Adam Blackmore in particular does a great job covering Saints.
-
Excellent - Gary Neville Good - Shearer, Ian Wright, Glenn Hoddle, Roy Keane (he's a scream) OK - Jenas, Phil Neville, Souness Awful - Redknapp (any of them), Danny Murphy and from a few years back Niall Quinn Just eff Off - Jamie Carragher
-
fortunately for them Villa’s and Brighton’s aren’t much better, same with West Ham.
-
Including the club historian who clearly did not allow for extreme weather conditions affecting anyone’s performance let alone a young player like him finding his way in the English game and conditions.
-
I would love to see them go down. If we could assist with that, even a draw would do, with their fixtures it’s a must win for them. Given how we play away I’m quite confident, they have to come at us, they can’t sit back. And that should suit our away game down to the ground.

Limited ability, big mouth, inflated ego. My only question is how the hell has this guy been capped for Holland?
-
Shes an awful commentator. Even my wife looked up during MOTD and said “I couldn’t listen to her for a whole game, it sounds like she’s got a book of things commentators should say and she’s trying to use as many as she can”
-
I don’t know what JWP does to them but Grealish was having a real strop today, just like Zaha
-
Obafemi did alright, they both did

He looks very promising based upon today, especially first half. -
Simple yes or no...Lallana on a free in the summer?

no he hasn’t been decent for a fair while now. In fact he could easily be put in the “should never of left Southampton” pigeon hole. ok he’s got some medals but they are hollow rewards, he’s played a very minor part in anything they’ve won, even cost them a League Cup with a missed penalty a few years back. He is currently the very definition of squad player, playing a bit part here and there. We had his best football days. -

No, too injury prone now -
The inconsistencies with VAR are the most annoying but at the end of the day VAR on many instances - Maguire/Son/Bertrand sending offs are just the opinion of the ref watching the footage so it’s going to be inconsistent as they apply the law the way they see it. I don’t see that kind of VAR situation changing. Those are the type of things where the on field ref should be told to go and look at the monitor. It’s the offside one needs tinkering with and by all accounts they are looking into that.

Totally this. Blaming the fans is an easy and pathetic get out excuse. It’s ironic Austin had a twitter rant at the fans this weekend yet a few weeks ago he recalled telling Mark Hughes the players, his team mates, were spineless. Players that look to blame fans for them being **** poor are totally spineless.

It’s a vicious circle isn’t it? We have watched what? 3 and a half seasons of absolute crap at home bar the odd good performance so as soon as things start to go wrong most fans think “oh Christ, here we go again” Going to home matches stopped being a pleasure, it’s now more of a chore, the chances of seeing a decent performance is small. If the players are affected by the reaction from the crowd why are they ok away from home where 80% of the stadium is hostile towards them? Is it the fans fault when a player puts a simple pass out of play or when we lose possession? Is it the fans fault when the defence is so bad we cannot stop conceding stupid goals? Is it the fans fault when Shane Long misses from a yard out? Is it the fans fault when the manager makes a ridiculous sub - and yes Ralph is very guilty of this? I don’t remember fans getting all the credit under Poch and Koeman. I personally think it’s got to the stage that it’s a mental thing, as soon as they pull on that home shirt in the home dressing room they lose belief. Maybe they should play in the away kit at St Mary’s !

He's swapped a place on the bench at a Premier League club for a bench in The Championship at an age where players like Rickie Lambert were fourishing. Well done Charlie
