  1. He did ok last night. I had to laugh cos at one point during all the tappy tappy sideways passing in defence on an increasingly dodgy surface he actually pointed to where the goal we were attacking was. This was ultimately ignored as the midfield then took over the tappy tappy sideways role.
  2. The best action would be for nobody to go, have the away end completely empty. Wont happen of course but would look bloody effective.
  3. He stated that MP doesn’t make excuses......uh, he does, he blames everything bar his crazy team selections when we lose. If RK thinks we have a fantastic group of players he must have had one hell of a secret Santa present at this years Xmas party off one of them ! As stated elsewhere where has this “small club” mantra come from all of a sudden ? I think after hearing that he is deluded. God help us if we lose tonight cos MP ain’t going anywhere.
  4. Funny you should say that but it often looks to me like Forster does similar when he kicks the ball......of course it might just be a defence mechanism to hide the fact its usually a ****e kick
  5. George Lawrence
  6. everyone was too busy giving Mike Dean their New Year best wishes
  7. kind of suggests he isn’t a Southampton player, 100%, as per the Gooner on Twitter.
  8. Be interesting to see if Theo features in the Arsenal line-up today
  9. Unless Bertrand is fit.
  10. That was my first thought, on the one occasion he could have gone down with justification he stays on his feet. Very strange
  11. no ? Shock, horror......he would have seen it had it been the other way round
  12. Excellent point and a clean sheet. I presume the manager won’t drop McCarthy after this.......will he ?
  13. This should be enough to earn McCarthy a run in the team surely ? I mean coming out to collect a corner !! That sort of thing gives defenders confidence.
  14. Keeping him fresh for Palace
  15. Doesn’t normally stop you.
  16. not his first job though was it, he worked his way up starting in non league football I believe, not in the Premier League !
  17. yeah exactly, that little fact is hardly a ringing endorsement
  18. the last few months where we have won 1 in 11 ? Brilliant. Maybe he could start with the goalkeeper and teach him how to move his feet as that seems to escape the current keeper coach. As long as the opposition don’t go for the near post that should work out well.
  19. He was appointed as some form of liaison officer wasn’t he and tasked with keeping an eye on the players loaned out. There has been no mention of him coaching or assisting the U18 side, the U23 side or any bloody side. Perhaps he’s done something wonderful with the Under 9’s. You don’t think a Premier League club should appoint a Senior First Team Coach who has had some experience coaching at a reasonable level then ?
  20. Absolutely bloody crazy. Is this the point at which Southampton have, to use a TV term, jumped the shark ?
  21. this would be the problem, keeping him fit for more than three games in a row looks virtually impossible. Those that moan about Austin being injury prone wouldn’t be able to cope with this glass ornament of a footballer.
  22. Without a doubt but I'm not sure how the hell we are getting the points to achieve that - we need to beat one or two of the big teams at home - Liverpool would be nice
  23. Isn’t Theo injury prone though ?
  24. Your third point is the most relevant one I think, they wouldn’t have a clue who to get.
  25. Probably the best defender I’ve seen in a Saints shirt in the last 40 years.......that’s before the Vardy inflicted injury. Been pretty ordinary this season, I hope that continues
