Saints V Blackpool Match Thread and Reaction
beatlesaint replied to SOTONS EAST SIDE's topic in The Saints
FWIW I think Lallana misses Connolly, they seem to be on the same wavelength. -
Its a pity we dont have something this level headed after a match. Excellent summary.

Kevin Bond. Possibly the luckiest man in football, has held onto Redcrapp's coat tails and look where its got him !

I think we have been victims of our own success this season. The bar of expectation has been raised far higher than most of us ever dared hope and with it goes harsher criticism and a bigger feeling of let down when things dont go as good as they have most of the season. You are right in what you say but I bet if we were sat in no mans land mid-table world people would of just shrugged this defeat off a bit more. -
I think he means "same ****, different day" which isnt true in this case

Well as usual you are being picky but you get my point surely ? And lack of goals is not because he plays deeper its because his shooting is bloody awful, the worst part of his game. -

I must say I'm a bit concerned as to why in his post match comments NA was "excited" about Guly playing up top with Morgan feeding off him. Why on earth would you be excited about pushing a guy forward who has scored one goal in his Saints career ? Sorry but I just dont get that tactic I'm afraid. -
Today shows why we should have signed James Beattie
beatlesaint replied to Paul Chuckle's topic in The Saints
Think to be fair his point is that, ok maybe not Beattie, but we should have bought in a big centre forward on loan as cover for Rickie. We have gambled on his fitness until January and barely a week after the window slammed shut we have lost that gamble. Some say sods law but we have gambled with the chance of mainting our place at the top of the league for me I'm sorry to say. -

Yeah I agree, its not knee jerk at all. If you are top of the League and serious about promotion you should not be losing to teams at the bottom of the table who have only won one home game all season and not scored more than one goal in those home games. We are having a bad spell, with the exception of the second half against Brightion we have been poor since the last international break........oh and how many strikers that we have been linked with are gonna score against us FFS ? Sharp, Juke and Maynard......bloody hell. -
I hope I am wrong but I think we will struggle big time without Rickie. Hope he is only out today, a few games sounds worrying.

If the opposition have a decent, quick right winger i would go with Harding, he is a better defender. If they haven't I would go with Fox.

My God they are like a poor mans Bournemouth with their attitude to us. Least Bournemouth is close to Southampton geographically.

Hooiveld deal to be "wrapped up" tonight
beatlesaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
He's always just about the last one off, didnt see any difference to be honest. -
And he's had a fair amount of competition for that description in recent years. Totally agree though......."I will never miss another one on one with a keeper" said BWP on a Thursday. the following Saturday, BWP through on goal, only the keeper to beat......yep he fkin missed, and continued to do so !
-
The poor guy, what could have been so bad in his life that he felt the only way out was to do that. terrible, terrible news. R.I.P.

Gutted with result, tweaked my knee hopefully not out to long will know more after scan! Hope to be back ASAP #fingerscrossed from the horses mouth ! Think all the cruciate ligament doom merchants can relax, hopefully.

I'm sure Nigel wont reveal anything in his after match interview, he never discusses injuries, so we probably wont know for a while.
-
We have just lost out first game in 9 after 4 straight wins.....this is real life football not bloody Football Manager 2012 ffs. The real bad news is Chaplow's injury.

I also think I am correct in saying that the family dont attend every game do they ? I thought that was pretty common knowledge. I mean I cant see them attending evening games for a start, so the reason the flag cannot be used for games not attended by the family is .......?

If I could be cynical for one moment, how do they feel about the regular "There's only one Markus Liebherr" chants then ?

Simon Peach has tweeted that he is led to believe Saints move for Juke is a red herring as Coventry are looking to get more money out of Boro !!
