I hope nobody waves any money at Mr and Mrs Storrie
-
Glad Connolly's injury is not related to his previous problems. We have missed him big time......as AP admits himself. If fit I'm having a few quid on Connolly to score the winner at Wembley on 28 March
-
I know this is gonna be hard to believe given their impeccable track record but perhaps they dont really have 2 serious bidders waiting in the wings
-
-
Well they managed for Cardiff in 2003 and the ZDS in 1992 without the price being on the high side........how many coaches left St Marys for both the semi final and final in 2003 ? Well over 40 for each, I'm sure it was.
-
Thats right, you cant blame Saints for that, that'll be Wembley's little money maker ! What does surprise me is the £25 for coach travel though.....thats a bit steep and for a 50 seater comes to well over £1200 per coach !!!!
-
Have I completely mis-understood this fairy tale from Storrie then ? He was "attacked" by someone waving money in his face......not a knife, just paper money ? Give me strength......and get a sense of humour you ***** ! You can tell why he is so bloody matey with Redknapp - they both have a habit of re-writing history and playing the "it wasn't me gov" card. Who was it oversaw P*mpey going down the swanee again ?

Well as you say, given the chances of reaching the play-offs this season seem remote we would be pushing for back to back promotions. Now whilst I am very confident that with this set of players, plus maybe a couple more, we can quite comfortably achieve automatic promotion next season, the CCC is a whole different kettle of fish. It all depends where reality bites and to my mind, once promoted to the CCC it will take a year to establish ourselves then the next season, or two, to push for the trip to the PL. So, if we go up next season and take 2 years to get out the CCC that would be a 4 year turn around....and that aint bad going.....3 years is very very ambitious and always was, especially when you are starting year one as we did with the ten point deduction. Cos lets not forget, no matter how good a team is, Lady Luck will always play a big part in your fortunes.

The Premier League have already said they will not bend the rules. They will not get an advance on TV money or parachute payments. How could they - just think of the different cans of worms that would open up ? Besides, another 13 games and they will relegated and the PL wont give a toss about them, just like they haven't about Saints, Bournemouth, Luton, Crystal Palace, Southend.....

An excellent post Whitey - I agree entirely with your Pace of development heading. If the 5 year plan really is 3 years then I think that NC needs to re-evaluate and go back to the 5 year idea. Gently, gently. 5 years is a good target, it might involve a little patience but all good things are worth waiting for.

The best fans in the world......16000 of them turned up last Wednesday for what could have been their last game ever. Even without that hanging over them it was a must win against a fellow struggler.......and they muster 16000 ? When will this pathetic false praise of their fans that is continually perpetuated by the media going to stop FFS ?

Make up your mind, in another thread you didnt think he was that great today. He was actually our MOM by a country mile.
-
I'm hoping the bit about Connolly being fit is true. If its 0-0 with 20 odd mins to go he would be ideal with his ability to create space for Lambert and Lallana, not to mention the undoubted goal threat he is.
-
No, each club gets £247,500.
-
Thanks.....of course it was changed by 15mins for TV, I recall that now.
-
Why does the OS and Echo keep referring to a 12.30 kick off. I thought it was 12.45. So am I wrong......don want to get here late
-
Who is he loaning the money to ? Himself ? He is the owner. If you buy yourself a new TV are you loaning yourself the money to buy it ? How many times does NC have to say that ML is funding this out of his own pocket as an investment ? If, and I think its a big if, he decided to sell the club in a few years time it would be worth a lot more than the price paid to get the club out of admin. And why do you say the club is running at a loss this season ? The attendances have risen dramatically, especially this week and the prize money for each round of the FA Cup as well as the £250,000 for live coverage of Saturday's tie......even the Echo conceeded that Saints were going to rake in over a million on the back of the JPT and FA Cup runs....and now a Wembley final and all the extra merchandise......I would doubt if this club, or many others for that matter has been in such good financial health.
-
We have an owner who has readily made funds available, who comes over for most if not all home games and has been to some away, who always looks happy when he is here and who has said he is in it for the long haul not just a short term thing so why do you want reassuring ?
-
Ok Alan....Now pick the same starting line-up for all remaining games
beatlesaint replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Couldnt disagree with that team one bit ! -
Quite right, he did get overly excited and we were calling for AP to substitute him as you can never trust refs these days. He did show plenty of passion and desire to win which is grest....he could have kept his mouth shut and not got quite so involved though but fair play to him for having a go at Ince. They wanted someone sent off, that was clear, their number 9 was a pain in the arse with his constant nagging and whinging.
-
If they dont win tonight a points deduction wont make much difference I wouldnt have thought !
-
I think reading between the lines AP knows he has to get promotion next season and that failure to do so will not be an option.
-
But a St Mary's spokesperson said: "It is a relatively small amount of money for us so we are prepared to take the risk rather than cause any bad feeling." That sentence sort of rubs it in though - "we have considerably more money than you"
-
Yes, all that I said. He said the pitch was a contributing factor BUT so was our lack of quality and basics !!
-
He didnt blame the pitch, he said we lacked quality and we didnt do the basics well enough, we were hitting too many balls out of play etc. Had he said we didnt win because of the pitch fair enough, but he didnt.
