A little bit, it should really only be the captain, Hammond, that talks to the ref. When its a really bad decision, like so many yesterday I can understand it. When its a run of the mill thing then yes, they should leave it alone. BTW - "didn't have a great game" is a touch of an understatement.

You see this is a case of two people hearing the same comments differently isn't it ? I heard it as though the manager decides who he might want based on the areas that need strengthening, but once he has decided and it has been agreed that player is within budget, at the right age, right wages etc then the manager steps away and NC and his team take over sorting out the deal. Except for anywhere that Redcrapp manages I would be surprised if any club leaves the buying of players purely to the manager.

The first two decisions in the second half he gave our way. I was coming to the conclusion at this point that the guy was only capable of pointing for a free kick in one direction, towards the Chapel. He then reverted to type. How a referee can determine that Hammond flicking, not kicking, the ball away is worth the same punishment as a guy who lays out Harding with the ref looking straight at the incident beggars belief. Fortunately he didnt cost us the 3 points, despite his best efforts. Had he done so then there could have been a riot there yesterday. And they try to say refs decisions dont insite the crowd........
-
Quite frankly the ref was a disgrace. Most refs in this league are poor but he is a premiership ref FFS !! I was convinced he would give them something like a dodgy penalty, he did everything else for them after all. Thankfully he did not cost us all 3 points, cos thats certainly the way it looked like it was going. I assume he has been demoted from the Prem has he ?

I wonder how much Storrie will charge them per hour ? Consultants dont come cheap and where I used to work it was a standing joke that someone would leave or retire then come back as a consultant and earn more money doing so.

Whilst not politically correct in these times of embracing Diversity, it is none the less true.....but we aren't allowed to either say or know that anyomore are we !!
-
Absolutely. You have 5000 German supporters surrounded by 83000 Englishmen yet they segregate that. To segregate 44000 Saints fans from 24000 Carlisle fans you need a gap of 22000 seats !!! Incredible.
-
Dont forget they are living in a fantasy world at best or clinging to any scrap of wood that floats past them at worse. Money laundering, within a Football Club ? How on earth would they seriously expect to escape further punishment for that ?
-
Be even worse if Burnley manage to beat Stoke at home tonight !
-
Can we assume from this that you are NOT going to Wembley ?
-
Why do they think he is so fantastic ? Cos they beat us, a team two leagues below them ? Pathetic.

Still tickets left according to the club's Twitter 5 mins ago. Keep going fella

If the Poopey fans latest clown, Mr Avram Grant, keeps banging on about the injustice of the points deduction and how decisions should be made on the football pitch, may I just make a small suggestion to whoever is interviewing him at the time and simply say to him - LOOK AT THE LEAGUE TABLE YOU THICK **** !!!!!! and thats BEFORE the bloody points deduction !
-
Congratulations. If you had taken her to St Marys and she had given birth outside the ticket office you would have had a free season ticket for the nipper for life
-
Thank the Lord !! Well done.
-
I have got to the stage where I am willing you to get your tickets. Good luck mate
-
Considering we are taking over 40,000 up there this is bound to happen. Never (in best Churchill impression) have so many Saints fans gathered in one stadium - it should be an awesome atmosphere.
-
As long as you havent bought 4 tickets with the two season tickets then yes absolutely. If you have it still shouldnt be a problem, you have waited and are on the database.

Oh dear, you had high hopes for him then. Where is he now ? Scotland isnt it ?

Leeds Utd have only won one of their last seven games. Huddersfield have lost the last two. Milwall have lost at Wycombe and Hartlepool. Swindon have failed to win their last two, including a hammering at home. Play-off and automatic promotion teams DO drop stupid points. Teams have good runs, teams have bad runs. If, after 46 games are played, we are ten points, or less, behind Huddersfield, Swindon, Milwall to name but three, will you except that your argument is flawed and that, looking back on the season, despite the ten point deduction and the bad start, we didnt do that bad ?

I was so hoping you would see this thread's title and leave it alone...silly me, giving you a bit of credit for being man enough to step back and refuse to re-ignite your anti-Le Tiss agenda. The paragraph I have quoted above just goes to show how twisted you are when it comes to the LEGEND (thats in caps, just for you) that is Matt. Do you honestly believe the money he was presumably paid for this bit of promotion is even a very very small percentage of one couples mortgage on a property ? Building Societies lend millions upon millions in mortgages each year yet somehow you take a mere droplet falling into an ocean as another side swipe involving MLT. I was prepared to give you the benefit of the doubt and thought, due to your more rational football posts, you had come to terms with your demons....obviously not. Oh by the way, I seem to recall you mentioning Mick Channon as one of your all time heroes. Does the fact he was often last or late out onto the pitch because he was watching the 2.50 at Kempton Park not leave him open for your sly digs ? You may care to explain how thats nowhere near as bad as lying on a medical couch for 10 mins before kick off

Your over reaction to defeats and/or set backs amaze me. How the hell have you coped with watching Saints over the last 4 or 5 years ? You are going on like some 18 year old who has very little history of the up and downs of supporting SFC. We used to have Keegan, Channon, Ball, Watson and Nicholl in the team and still lose away game after away game. Winning a home game by 4 or 5 then losing away the next week is like the early 80's except its a different league. Bet you aren't a Lawrie fan either then
-
Oh FFS I didnt realise this board had turned into a bloody English exam !! Just for you then.............Teams LIKE Newcastle......
-
He will still be playing for Southampton FC next season. The Newcastles of this world, if back in the Premiership will go for prem proven players or foreign players with a reputation gained from this coming World Cup. Teams in the CCC would not be able to afford him. He is 28, he is not a youngster worth taking a gamble on, he has never played higher than this division and he knew there was a very good chance we would take a second season to get oput of this League. If we fail to go up next season it just may be a different story.....but I doubt that too.

Can you tell me why you seem to think the players are blameless ? As sadoldgit has pointed out the team AP picked were good enough to easily overcome Norwich, Walsall and Huddersfield yet they failed to overcome Tranmere. I fail to see why you think thats his fault. If he had made four or five changes and they had lost then fair enough but you, as a manager, put out you best eleven, and sometimes they let you down. Thats not just football, thats any sport or any walk of life where you, as an individual, are reliant on others for your success. Its the first League game we have lost in 2010 and its March. When the hell did any Saints team last get this far into the year without recording a League defeat ?
