  2. Well lets bow to the superior knowledge of the Brain of Britain then shall we ? You think its possible for a striker to score 30 goals every season he plays do you rather than have a pruple patch in front of goal for a couple of years followed by an average patch with a bad patch thrown in every so often ? Wow ! Might happen on Championship Manager I suppose. The point about him playing in a higher league - well the crucial part you seem to have missed is his age. Of course League One players can play higher and are bought by clubs in the Prem etc BUT how many of them are over 26 for instance ? Some players start in the Prem, drop down, then come back - it could happen to Barnard - but not many get to his age having never stepped foot in the Championship or beyond. If you are going to have a go and not consider a different opinion to your own then thats fine, but read the bloody post properly before calling people thick !!
  3. Phil Boyer's second v. Notts Forest in 1979. Superb one touch football move finished off by a great player for us.
  4. Rickie is what ? 28 years old. He is a League One player, he has never played at a higher level. The last two seasons have been incredible for him goal scoring wise. There was a time last season, around February where he was shooting for 30 yards every week and only the keeper or woodwork were stopping them flying in. There are very few players, if any, who can score 30 goals a season year after year. He has had a purple patch that lasted 2 years. If he was that good he would not be playing in this division. He is not a bad player, he is a good player, especially in this league. But seriously - he is judged on goals and the goals will not come as freely as last year every season. We are seeing all Rickie's limitations because he is not scoring. I still think he is the best centre forward in this league.
  5. I can. The players think they are better than they actually are IMHO. There is a difference between believing you can win every game and thinking you will win every game.
  6. 1000 up there would be a tremendous turn out. Funny isn't it how Saints fans go about their business supporting the club in such great fashion whilst down the road everyone is creaming themselves about what magnificent - when was the last time a home game was sold out - supporters they have ? Umm...
  7. We aren't, Reading are, just like they helped us out when Barnard and Connolly were both out ;-)
  8. Whats the matter with you ? Three guys who all did great things for this club and all died far far too young......... and you get a quick jibe in ? Pathetic.
  9. That of course is a worry yeah.....they have to get near him first of course :-)
  10. Didnt Lallana say himself a couple of weeks ago he needed games to get match fit after his non pre season and spell out injured ?
  11. Being rested ;-) Good to see Connolly back on the bench.
  12. Difference between now and then is that now we have money and dont need to be tempted to sell to the big boys. Chamberlain signed a three year deal, his old man has seen and done it all and will advise him accordingly I am sure. I wouldnt expect to see him leave for a few years yet.
  13. My thoughts exactly. Lets hope so, would be a good player for us in the next league up never mind this division.
  14. I think thats a bit harsh. I thought he had a good game last night, some of his lay offs were excellent.
  15. Cant agree to the dropping of Harding. What exactly has he done wrong ? Puncheon - yeah i can see that. Might be worthing putting him on the bench for the Cup game and letting Chamberlain stake a claim for his place.

There would be a much longer video on You Tube of all his classic misses for us too. Just how many one on ones with the keeper did he manage to balls up ? Played in fits and starts, would be good for 15 minutes then vanish. Peter Reid probably scares the living daylights out of him so maybe his work rate is better. But in answer to the OP.............NO !
  17. He's been a victim in a crap managers bid to play the big man like his Daddy.......so a Ferguson has finally done something good for us !!
  18. It was his worst game for us last week against Oldham, he gave the ball away constantly for the first hour of the match. Would be delighted if we got him permanently come January.
  19. I have ;-)
  20. I thought someone on here said they were playing a season review DVD when they were queueing for the new shirts at that event they only advertised the day before.
  21. Absolutely. We haven't taken a decent corner since 1993 :-) They really do need to get a bit of practice in. I bet we are the worst goalscorers from a corner in any league.
  22. Morgan's shooting to be more precise. Has anyone seen the goal he scored for France the other week ? Was he stood on the goal line and the ball hit him or something ? To continually shoot over the bar by that margin shows poor technique IMHO.
  23. If only that could be true, how funny would that be. Its crap of course, Rupert would never use any of his own money, he never did here anyway.
  24. Wow, theres a sweeping and somewhat unfair statement considering there isnt a lot of money/jobs in Liverpool.
  25. At 11.59 and 59 seconds on the final day before the plug is pulled on them a white knight on his steed.....or more likely a skate loving git in his caravan, will come rushing in and save them from toppling over the cliff. You can guarantee they will NOT be liquidated and go out of business, as has been mentioned its all brinkmanship and posturing.
