Well given JWP had been here since he was 8 and made his debut in 2011 and there was never a mention of one for him I cant see any justification in Stephens geting one until, like Kelvin Davis, he retires. That seems to be more a benchmark now than the former 10-12 years service although given the amount footballers earn now compared with 40 odd years ago when testimonials were more common place that may have a lot to do with it.

Well we agree on something then 🤣 He’s very vocal and encouraging to his team mates. That’s definitely a strength of his, he has leadership qualities. I’m going to resist the temptation to say he should improve his own game before trying to improve others however 😜😉

RM is very keen to shoe horn Stephens in as much as possible isn’t he?

To an extent I have to agree, he isnt brilliant by any means and I do worry that RM wants to shoe horn him in somewhere in the team. He would still be my centre back on the bench option but if while Bree is out he decides to play KWP and Stephens as the full backs then the question is would Jack be a better bet than Manning? Away from home where you defend more I would have to say yes he probably is.
