  22. Can I just add one more thing, if you're a couple then BOTH of you deal with the paperwork, bills, insurance, pensions etc, my mum dealt with everything and my dad is completely lost with it all paperwork coming out of his ears and he doesn't know what to do here there or anywhere, just a tip Cheers Ponty, that's life ya know, happens to everyone at some point losing parents. I admit I didn't expect to be 26 but that's the way it goes, some people younger lose their parents, life's harsh at times.
  23. Unfortunately not for me, I thought with my mum we'd get to the stage where she was unconcious and we could speak to her etc, yet it never happened, went too too quickly. My mum was diagnosed with lung cancer in November, turns out she had had it for 3 years undetected (got old NHS) and it had spread, nothing they could do and gave her til the end of February. On Sunday 10th Jan 2010 my mum got taken in to hospital, she seemed alright sat up in her bed, then at 2:15am the morning of Weds 13th we had a call from the hospital saying to go up because my mum had deteriorated. We got up the hospital just before 3am and she had slipped off. Her birthday was 19th Jan and her funerals this Friday. Went and saw her today at the Chapel, still hasn't kicked in really, very strange place. Cancer is a very very nasty illness, and I feel for anyone who has to go through it, I still have my Uncle yet to go with terminal lung cancer, so the ride isn't over yet. Sorry for going on, at least someone has had good news on the cancer side, very much congratulations to you and Mrs Hamster x x
  24. I've just been to see my mum, going again tomorrow and then that's it
