  1. Agree with this.
  2. We have had the hardest start by a country mile. So the fact we're not in the relegation zone, and three teams with far easier fixtures are worse than us, would suggest we'll be fine this season. Which we will be. Not sure how we'll do against Leeds but we'll definitely beat Burnley, Watford and Norwich.
  3. Not a red card. Played well really though. Next five games critical now. Think we'll move up the table
  4. Hmmmm I'd have stuck with Armstrong and Adams tbh
  5. It will be a surprise if we get anything
  6. https://www.soccerstats.com/table.asp?league=england&tid=10 Interesting table here. If you look at the played opponents column, it shows that we have had the hardest start in the league by some distance, and that after Chelsea, it gets a bit easier for us.
  7. Yeah fair enough. My view is they are both here for the long term so we need to try and make it work. Think Broja was fairly anonymous when he came on though.
  8. Bielsa won't last the season. When the going gets tough, he has a very long history of quitting.
  9. I'd swap Adams with Broja. But yes agreed, Armstrong and Djenepo our most creative midfielders
  10. They lost at home to West Ham and we didn't... We'll see next month I guess. But yes, I'd say we're better than Leeds
  11. Anyone know when Stuart Armstrong is back? It's quite obvious we miss him. He makes us tick going forward.
  12. He'll be fine. He's a goalscorer. I'm more concerned about the lack of creativity in midfield.
  13. It's fewer, not less We're better than all those teams. So calm down.
  14. Focus on defending because we'll need to against Chelsea. After that, get the attack fine tuned. Think playing KWP over Perraud was a mistake. KWP is good but if we're going to play Livramento, we need a left footed player on the left.
  15. We're not going down, don't worry. Norwich, Watford, Burnley, Newcastle, Leeds are worse than us.
  16. Not good enough at all.
  17. Yup, agree with all the above. If we really have progressed from being a team on the fringes of the relegation zone to being a regular top half team again, this is a game we should be winning.
  18. Think we'll win this one. 2-0
  19. Fans aren't happy on Twitter. Seems like they had similar ticketing issues we had at the Man Utd game. Whilst we issued a full refund to everyone, they've released a club statement blaming the fans for not using the tickets correctly 😂 https://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/news/2021/september/portsmouth-football-club-statement/
  20. Brilliant defensive performance. Ralph has clearly had a major impact over the summer and we look a well drilled effort, so fair play to him. The penalty incident - at the time, I didn't think it was a penalty, so was very surprised (but elated) to see it given. The replays showed it wasn't a foul, it was a coming together in my view. The defender has the right to try to compete and I'd have been disappointed had that been given against us. The right decision was made, eventually.
  21. Very strange team selection. But let's see.
  22. Play like we did against Man Utd and no reason why we can't get something from this game at all.
  23. Interesting post-match interview with Ralph. Says we prepared for 2 weeks by trying something different. I have to say, given the amount of goals we've conceded, we needed something different, and defensively it worked. I've always thought that a manager should always prioritise the defence. You concede nothing and you're guaranteed a point. My view is it's easier to fix the attack knowing you have a solid foundation behind you. Obviously against Man City next week we'll have to be much more solid still to get anything. But going forward, it's progress. AND it shows he has a Plan B.
  24. REDMOND IS NOT A STRIKER He'll get subbed off on 80 minutes though.
  25. Nice one. See, we're doing OK compared to last season. 2 points better off. UCL here we come
