Definitely. I think we should sack him because I can't see us moving forward under him long-term, but will we go down under him? No. As poor as we are... we still haven't been in the relegation zone all season. We'll beat Fulham next, they're truly dire, and we still have Cardiff and Huddersfield to come next month, we'll get at least one win there too. By the end of the year I can see us 14th-15th position. Not good enough really, but still, we'll survive.

The problem IMO was the midfield. Hojbjerg had a stinker today, and in general the passing was poor from both teams. I think in those situations you need to bring on Romeu, instead we brought on JWP.

We know fitness levels declined once Pellegrino came in, but when Hughes came in and judging by the words he said on his arrival, I expected there to be more intensity in training. I don't know if it's simply down to Pellegrino's training methods totally destroying the fitness levels and us needing time to get them back up again, or if more needs to be done at the moment

I'm only responding to your inane posts. You don't like Hughes, fine, neither do I particularly, but you derail every thread with what appears to be nothing but vile and hatred, and you just come across as bitter and twisted, which isn't healthy for anyone.
-
I'd get rid of Hughes anyway because it's obvious he's not the long term option and with Reed going, we can get a proper structure in place where the first team coach suits the new director of football. It's the international break so it'd be the perfect time to do it.

I don't think we played that badly, after they scored we lost our way, but if that was 2-0 we would've seen the game out. First half we were better than the second, but it wasn't a terrible performance.
-
Officials have cheated us out of that. Shocking.
-
Apparently they're coming for us, hilarious.
-
Hoedt to score just to shut up the wazzocks here.
-
Will we see a cupset? Could be quite funny if they lose at lowly Maidenhead, battling relegation from the National League. Should be a convincing victory for the blue few.
-
92% support the decision... I'd say that's pretty conclusive.
-
I like that team, I think it's got a good balance to it. I'd have stuck with Hoedt and Stephens personally. Glad Armstrong's playing instead of Austin.
-
He always has been the Chairman - that was the role previously occupied by Cortese. Of course, he would never have made those decisions on his own and I'm sure all of the managerial hirings/firings, recruitment etc. would have come from extensive input from Les Reed and the other departments.

We should probably sack Hughes for the sake of Jeff's health, I do fear for him at times. Unhinged doesn't cover it.
-
I really wish someone at the club would just tell him not to speak in public, ever. I was just beginning to like him again but that was mainly because he'd been silent for so long. This is just pure rubbish, I don't know if he thinks giving interviews like this are helpful, but someone needs to tell him personally not to bother.
-
My prediction is it'll be someone from abroad and who we've never heard of.
-
Him and Stephens were brilliant at Bournemouth. They score for fun, most defences will struggle with them. I know he's not popular on here and he hasn't played brilliantly at times but recently he had improved.
-
I don't agree that this buys Hughes time. If we don't win on Saturday then the focus once again shifts to our very poor league campaign. It does take a little of the pressure off the players and coaches, at least in the short-term, which might benefit us.
-
What makes you say that?
-
Shame about Hoedt, him and Stephens had been looking quite solid (excluding the Man City match obviously). I imagine Vestergaard will come in.
-
I think the international break will be far from quiet at Saints. I wonder if that's why they've done it, give us 2+ weeks to get replacements sorted going into the January transfer window. Of course, over the summer, we had a couple of months...
-
Interesting. Big changes happening at the club upstairs, clearly.
-
Moderators - can we have a poll, see who agrees and disagrees with the decision?
-
Yeah it's bizarre. Out of all the issues currently, he isn't one of them.
-
Happy days, he should've gone in the summer. From the wording of the statement, it sounds as if he's been sacked rather than him resigning. I can't see Hughes lasting much longer in all honesty, a defeat on Saturday would be the end for sure.
