He was taking risks, trying to take people on, of course at times he was going to give the ball away, but he also got past defenders and opened them up. I'd rather he took risks, he's been playing far too safe, especially in the previous season.
Vestergaard, obviously
Yoshida
Bednarek
Hoedt
Stephens
Yoshida was immense for Japan during the World Cup, he really has improved a lot since he first joined. I like Bednarek too.
Hoedt has his good moments but he's a liability. Young enough to improve, but not alongside Stephens.
He lacks the world class ability of Puel but he is a steady choice for this level. I hope though that we are planning for his replacement in say a couple of years time.
The country really is in a sad state. On the one hand, you have one of the most incompetent governments of all time, and on the other hand, the official opposition is also one of the most incompetent of all time. And that's the choice we're faced with. Grim.
If you're looking for somewhere easy to get to by car then Normandy is a good option, Le Havre plays in Ligue 2, Caen in Ligue 1, Le Havre have a modern stadium that never sells out and they play God Save the Queen before every game.
There was no reason to blame anyone in 16-17, we achieved our aim.
17-18 was the manager, the players and, principally, the board/recruitment department.
If we had Vestergaard in the team, I don't think we would've lost that.
Everton were the better team but we caused them problems, better teams will beat them.
More worried about Leicester, they look the complete package.
Vestergaard is going to be an essential part of this team, because he's the only one who can defend. Get him and Yoshida or Bednarek forming a partnership.
Need Armstrong on for JWP who has been poor, take Austin off too for a midfielder.
