Some people on this forum are more concerned about being proven right than wanting the team and our players to do well. Very bizarre attitude, why people can't accept that he has improved and still will improve is beyond me.
He was taking risks, trying to take people on, of course at times he was going to give the ball away, but he also got past defenders and opened them up. I'd rather he took risks, he's been playing far too safe, especially in the previous season.
Vestergaard, obviously
Yoshida
Bednarek
Hoedt
Stephens
Yoshida was immense for Japan during the World Cup, he really has improved a lot since he first joined. I like Bednarek too.
Hoedt has his good moments but he's a liability. Young enough to improve, but not alongside Stephens.
He lacks the world class ability of Puel but he is a steady choice for this level. I hope though that we are planning for his replacement in say a couple of years time.
The country really is in a sad state. On the one hand, you have one of the most incompetent governments of all time, and on the other hand, the official opposition is also one of the most incompetent of all time. And that's the choice we're faced with. Grim.
