Putting Sargeant on helps us.

We’ve got to kill off a team at some point, surely? Would make sense for it to be against bottom of the league and opposition containing Krul and Hanley. Come on Saints! Burnley vs Palace seems like a cracker and Howe ball is well underway.
-
The one advantage is that there’s an abundance of quality right-backs at the moment, we have two of them! Liverpool have Alexander-Arnold, who will be their mainstay for the next few years, likewise Chelsea and James. City have Walker and Cancelo. Walker’s 31, but isn’t showing any signs of slowing at this current time. Arsenal have Cedric and got him out of their side with the young Japanese right-back Tomiyasu, who has started well. This leaves just Manchester United as the only other realistic move Livramento would make and Wan-Bissaka is having a poor season. They did spend £50m on him, though, so may be reluctant to give up so soon and they may hope a better coach can get more from him, given his strengths are supposed to be in his defending.

I miss being fed lines that never came through.

On a scale of Pilchards’ builder to Guan/K Billy

Sorry San Marino, but you'll never hear the end of this and the score line will be brought up in every one of your matches for the rest of time.
-
We played a back four plus Foden, Mount, Sterling, Kane and Grealish against the mighty Hungary just last month and it didn't work and we drew 1-1. I know it's only San Marino, but it doesn't do any harm to pick a system and then stick to it. The wing-backs are also key attackers in this formation.

We’d overlook all the cringe that comes with Lingard if he had the same return here that he had with West Ham. But, if he’s going again this January, then West Ham will 100% be in for him again and they’re a more attractive destination than we are. Not sure about Newcastle, but they will be able to cover more of his wages, which I guess was the key reason why he stayed at Manchester United in the summer.

He’s playing the Ings replacement a bit too well.
-
To be fair, the last time the team worked from home (lockdown), we came back as Manchester City. Norwich's time to prepare for the match with a new manager is ticking by too.
-
At least we still have first dibs on the Chelsea youth.

I guess that it wouldn’t be too bold to assume Liverpool/Klopp persuaded Mane, like they did Van Dijk. They just weren’t caught and I doubt Van Dijk was the first time they brought out operation Blackpool. I’m not one of those with a problem with the fee received, though. In hindsight, we could have more, but at the time £36m was a good deal. We just didn’t use it very well.

That's a young David Beckham. Same initials too, so he can be revered like David Bentley was.

Gerrard probably just wanted to get away from Ross Wilson.

Random Ex- Academy Player Transfer News no-one will care about...

Manchester United have Paul McShane and Brighton have Gary Dicker, replacing Crofts, who is now their Under-23 manager. It’s the new thing. -
Van Dijk only became world class when he went to Liverpool, it’s well acknowledged by the media… 🤷♂️

American's don't have a favourable record over here, I can't think of many good ones. Off the top of my head: Randy Lerner at Villa, lack of investment, cheap managerial appointments like Sherwood, McLeish, Lambert and Garde, saw them relegated for the first time in 28 years. Ellis Short at Sunderland, didn't seem to care too much about football. Took them over in the Premier League and oversaw their downfall to League One before selling them, where they remain three years later after a lot of well documented backroom problems. The American consortium at Swansea, again took over the club in the Premier League. Appointed Bob Bradley straight away, who wasn't very good. Made further poor appointments in Paul Clement and Carlos Carvalhal and saw them relegated after seven years in the Premier League. Now, given the big sales of the likes of Mawson, McBurnie and Rodon among others in the Championship, they're not really putting the same money into the playing squad and that saw a good manager in Steve Cooper leave in the summer. Then you have the big clubs Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal, who all dislike their ownership for not putting in as much money into the playing squad as they think they should be able to.

As much as I would like Pahars to be a top manager, his last job was in Serie D earlier this year, managing just five games - One draw, four losses. I hope you’re on the windup.

🤣 I can understand the slight chance of Villa given their resources, but Norwich... 🤣 They're one of the few teams in this league with less money than us and are a certainty to go down again this season even if they did win at the weekend. I can't see any attraction in leaving us for Norwich.

Tadanari Lee, Maya Yoshida, Takumi Minamino, the now deleted Japanese Saints Twitter page. Has to be us!

Expect Klopp to be fined following his post match comments today...

But, not having a knee jerk board saw us miss out on the great Eddie Howe. 🙁🙁🙁

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/he-needs-better-disappointed-russell-22091166 Seems like we were right to get rid. Shame, as he had raw ability with his pace and looked like he could be something when he scored against Chelsea. However, something's not right off the pitch. Ralph called him out on his professionalism in public a couple of times and now it's happening again at Swansea. I don't think they're going to have much luck either.

Leaves Brighton just three points above us with everyone claiming they're having a great season.
