Please Nige, just get the job done on Saturday. As a lifelong Saints fan I've spent far too many last days of the season praying for things to go our way. I just want to be able to enjoy the last day knowing that everything is done and dusted.

We're in a good position on Saturday. Cardiff play Leeds at 12.30. I think I'm right in thinking that if Cardiff win it doesn't matter what Boro do against us as they won't be able to catch Cardiff and make the play offs. So a perfect Saturday would involve the following. Cardiff to beat Leeds. Bristol City to beat Barnsley or Derby to beat P*mpey as either result seals P*mpey's fate and Saints to beat Boro so that we're not dependent on Leicester doing us a favour on Monday night.

This is all getting a bit silly. People are talking about haggling and the OP didn't do that. FWIW I totally agree about haggling. It ****es me off. All these TV shows telling people to go and and hammer to retailer for discount. When was the last time they went into Tesco (the biggest profit making retailer in the country) and asked for discount at the checkout? Instead they pick on an independent retailer and screw him on price. The fact is that he makes less money than the larger multiple stores and probably gives better service than they do but he gets far less for his efforts. And people wonder why independent businesses are going bump all the time. :-/

The National Lottery is a game too. The chances of winning something on this are far greater than doing the lottery.

Already done that. And put £100 on us to finish 3rd at 16/1. If we don't go up I'll be £1600 better off which will pay for a holiday for me to forget all about it.

Of course it has something to do with customer service. The guy in the shop should be more polite. He didn't 'Demand' a reduced price, as you put it. He asked if a reduction in price was 'likely'. You don't sigh and say that you wish people would stop asking this question and then say, 'you've got no chance so forget it'. People in customer facing rolls need to be more subtle about things even if that's not their viewpoint. Whilst he is working in that shop he is a representative for the club. A simple, 'sorry, no' or 'sorry, we've not been given any indication' would have been far more pleasant. Yes, Sidney has the choice not to buy but as he said, there's not many games left and the club have reduced shirts in March before now so why not ask. It's only like waiting until January to buy something in the New Year sales. Are you really telling me that you'd be happy if you paid £42 for a shirt and then it was 1/2 price a week later?

I think WHU will win their remaining 3 fixtures. This means we need 2 wins from the last 3 and hope that we score plenty of goals too. GULP!

I kid you not. £40k per episode. When it was filmed in London he had a private hire car take him to and from his home in Southport every week and top Hotel accomodation at weekends. The BBC has become a joke. Characterless pundits who are afraid to speak out. Time for some new younger pundits who actually show some passion instead of harping on about the glory days at Liverpool. Love him or hate him, Ian Wright was good fun. He knew the Premiership and showed real passion. He lost his job for not being a yes man. Very sad.

That's the best reason yet! Hansen gets £40k per episode! That's disgusing when you consider that the BBC has just axed a load of local radio football coverage. Why not just get rid of him and Lawrenson and keep the smaller Radio stations in business? They're so out of touch with the modern game, it's shocking.

Totally agree. If we don't go up this year then I think we're on for a bit of a stay in the Championship. Which I don't mind at all.

The last 2 season at my local club have been the best that I can remember. Chester City went out of business 2 years ago. A new club was founded and is self funded and run by the supporters. There's no big wig director making a mess of everything and bleeding money out of the club. They've just won their second promotion in as many seasons and will be playing in Conference North next season. Only one league below where they were when they went bump. They got over 5000 for the top of the table clash against Northwich Victoria last week. A Ryman league & new club record. It's a pleasure to be able to lend support to the club and voulenteer to help out when possible. A lot of clubs could learn a lot from their business model. I despise what the Premiership has become. Everybody thought the Sky money was good when it poured in back in the 90's. The truth is that it's made things worse. The rich have got richer and the poor have got poorer. Get rid of the Top 4 or 5 clubs into a European league and make the Premiership more competitive.

Good reason IMHO. I quite like the Championship. It's certainly been more exciting & more competitive than the Premiership in recent years. However, I'd like to see us go up just to see what the outcome is with regards to NC and his pledge of European Football.

Guess tghat makes me a **** too. Automatic promotion does have to be earned. Nobody is going to gift it to you as we are now finding out. :-)

The heat really is on now and so far we've not exactly shown that we're good under pressure. Didn't realise the Boro game was on TV. ********! :-(

It was probably Avenue Saint. He seems to have a real problem telling the difference between Saints & Skates.

What? I thought I'd got that one sewn up. :-( I've not got a clue what will happen if we do go up. That depends on what the board do with finances etc. However, as I've been saying for weeks, my gut feeling is that we'll **** this up in spectacular fashion. That doesn't mean I don't want us to go up - I'd love nothing more. But I've seen us make a mess of so many things in the past that it's made me extremely pessimistic. I really thought we'd get a result tonight, so once again I find myself swamped in disappointment and really not looking forward to the remaining fixtures. Why can't we just get the job done? We always seem to go into the last few games hoping that other teams slip up etc? It's no fun at all.
