I'm not sure we'll go for any of the names that are being banded around on here. Who expected us to sign the likes of Lee or Jos? I would think that we've got a number of targets that nobody has heard of or expecting. On the subject of Bale, I think people are having a laugh. He's been inked to some of the top clubs in Europe who will be prepared to pay silly money. I really don't see us getting into that so I think we can forget about him coming back for now...

Jamie O'hara from Woves. Looked superb as a youngster at Spurs. Did ok whilst on loan with the Skates & earned a permanent move to Wolves which is enough to ruin any player. I'm sure Nige could get the best out of him.

I honestly never thought it would happen and have to say that I laughed when Nicola made his statement about being in the Premier league within 5 years. Hat's off to all concerned. More than happy to eat a huge slice of Humble Pie today.

The play offs are absolute ********. It's a league competition and the league doesn't lie. The team who finish 3rd have proved that they are better than the team who finish 4th, 5th or 6th in a league competition. So why should they then develop a cup style knock out contest that allows lower placed teams to benefit? And before you all start, I'm not covering my back in case Saints end up in the playoffs. I've never liked them. The only way they'd get my approval would be if it was 2 up and 2 down with the 3rd & 4th placed teams playing 3rd & 4th bottom from the league above. This creates a fight for survival and a battle to win promotion. Much more exciting. Infact, the playoffs we're similar to this when they started.

The defeats against Doncaster and Bristol City and the last minute equaliser from the skate ****s. It was almost as if they were saying 'we're going down but that goal is gonna stop you going up'. It could well have the desired effect. Tossers! :-(

This thread makes me laugh. 2 months ago when I backed Saints to finish 3rd & was called a skate c*nt. Now it seems that quite a few people have adopted the old, 'may as well have something to cheer me up if it all gos tits up' approach. FWIW I think there's gonna be quite a few of us collecting our winnings on Saturday evening. What bright spark had the idea of putting the Coventry game on TV? :-(

Well we're ****ed if we have to play that game and we're ****ed if we end up in the play offs. All games will be televised so we stand no chance.

The job should have been doen weeks ago. Typical Saints. Leave it until the last minute. Start to rely on others slipping up, and make all the fans sweat on the outcome. Why is life as a Saints fn so ****ing frustrating?

It was. My £2 bet on 'Boro netted me £3.75 which I've now put on a WHU utd win at Leicester. I'll then put my winnings on a WHU win on the last day and a Saints draw. WHU will go up on GD. ;-)

I've been convinced that we'd **** this up for quite some time and part of me still thinks we're not going up automatically. My pessimisim comes from years of being let down by Saints. This games got a draw written all over it, by which time WHU will have won both of their remaining fixtures convincingly. Cov have nothing to play for so the pressure will be off and they'll probably put in one of their best performances of the season. We seem to struggle under pressure. I can see us conceeding early, playing them off the park, wasting numerous chances and managing to grab an equaliser late on. I'll be more than happy to eat a huge slice of humble pie if we do go up and deep down I'm praying that we will. However, this is Saints that we're talking about. I find it's always good to expect to be disappointed and then anything above that is a massive bonus.

If we go up I'd like to see us try and get Jamie O'Hara from Wolves. I know he was on loan with the skates but I saw him play for Spurs a few years ago and thought he really had something. I'm sure Nige could get the best out of him.

With Wolves heading in the opposite direction I'd like to see us make a move for Jamie O'Hara. I know he was on loan with the ****e down the road but I saw him play for Spurs a couple of times and he looked really useful. If anyone can get him back on track then it'd be our Nige.

I once heard a kid ask his dad if the game they were watching was the same one they watched on TV last week. To be fair he was only about 3 but it didn't stop me from crying with laughter.
