You'll never stop it. You just have to learn who to trust and not to trust and make up your own mind about every rumour that comes forth. If someone is willing to make such predictions then their own credibility is on the line. Personally, the fact that JackanorySFC HASN'T revealed a name and has remained loyal to his friend gives me the impression that this is true. But each to their own.

Oh come on, you're not seriously telling me that you saw that it was Essruu posting it and thought 'That must be reliable, he never ever winds people up on internet message boards'?! Although on this occasion, I'm inclined to think he's telling the truth.

He's revealed all he is prepared to reveal, which is fair enough. I believe he has emailed more info to Ponty who has told me that it seems credible. Now, the hard part is that people will have to show some patience to see who this is, and if it happens, which most people can't do, and don't like!

Why do you think I started the thread?! Actually though, Fonte and this player could be friends for any number of reasons, like sharing an agent or other things not directly related to playing.

Quite simply, JackanorySFC is friends with another player (NOT Fonte) who Saints have had a bid accepted for, and who is hoping to complete the move to Saints in the next few days. This player is supposedly, in JackacnorySFC's view, a pretty big signing who has been looked at by Premiership clubs.

Indeed. But then isn't it always thus, in every transfer window? Negotiations with clubs, players, agents, wives (Matt Elliott anyone?) etc, etc can take time... Sometimes it's quick, most of the time not.
