From the forecasts it looks like it'll snow heavier and heavier this evening, temperature about freezing or just over, then there'll more persistent light snow tomorrow morning and the temperature will drop to -4 about 0700 tomorrow morning so it'll freeze just in time to catch anyone silly enough to try and head out to work...

I know what you mean, but plenty of other people will be glad to have had the update... they're damned if the do and damned if they don't it seems. But if they have these services then they need to use them, which is what they've done.

Fully agree with everything except the 'let down' part... no player signing is a let down, unless they are a wasteful drain on a limited wages budget that could be better spent elsewhere, and Antonio is not that.

I don't disagree that announcing him in this way is disproportionate to the news, but that's not Antonio's fault, and he seems to be the one taking flak at the mo. Discussions about his ability are for another day. Anyway, I too hope it is Ward because I think he is needed, but we'll see very soon!

Possibly the worst analogy ever...?! We really know how to start laying into a player if we don't like him don't we... quality 'support' for a potential Saints player that is. He's raw and young and despite what some seem to think, he has qualities. If he signs, it's down to AP to improve him, so quite what beenfit there is in making such harsh sweeping judgements about him now I don't know.

In true fate-tempting fashion, I actually think we'll grind it out to a slim first innings lead, with Bell getting a ton. There, that's done it.

I would take an educated guess that other signings would depend on the success or otherwise of these two initial bids, and that these are first choice targets in AP's priority positions. Others may well follow but it's unlikley that they all happen at once.

I met him and thought he was alright, especially the good work he has done for Sophie's Appeal. Yeah, he was young and acted up a fair bit when out in town, but then so have a large number of young lads, including many on here. Unless anyone actually knows him, the opinions we have can only ever be superficial really. But back to the main point, opinions of potential signings are just that, and there are a myriad of factors that affect a players ability and impact at a new club, some of which are down to his own skills and abilities, many of which are often external to that, like his manager, the team and formation around him, his personal life etc, etc.

2009 has ended up being a great year for me... Started it in a job i hated, but was simply grateful for having, as I was saving for a wedding (and trying to overcome family issues on her side) and desperate to get a nicer place to live than the mouldy, damp, 1-bed maisonette we lived in at the beginning of the year. In March, we rented a nicer place with a friend as a housemate so we could afford something better. Just about scraped the money in for the wedding in June, which went really well, family issues resolved, and had a great honeymoon in Scotland in July. Got a new job in September, started in October, which is better in every way (money, hours, people, security) and I am still really enjoying, over 2 months in. Now the Wife has also got a new job working mostly from home, and less hours, but the same money, as the current job she has gradually found to be boring and unfulfilling. And in the last month our housemate has found a nice place of her own, just round the corner so we're still nice and close, but that means we have our house to ourselves now which we can now afford as the wedding is paid for and I am on a better salary. I consider myself to be very lucky, but I think I've worked hard and gone through some pretty sh!t years, to get where I am, and so am extremely grateful for how things currently are. In 2010 I simply look forward to settling down a bit, making the house our home and being able to relax a little. And maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to get a Season Ticket next season too...!

Agree with most of that Barney... infact I would like to add that I don't really hate him... hate is too strong word used all too easily and I made the mistake of doing so in my opening post.
