  1. Clyne playing superbly so far.
  2. I think the relevant people will be the ones making the statements when required, about their area of the business, from now on. Which IMO is exactly how it should be.
  3. I wasn't trying to wind him up and I'm certainly not a troll. I was asking a valid question about why one statement changes his score so much. I'm not criticising him and his opinion is certainly valid, I just struggle to relate to it. Bizarrely, I too like to focus on the future, like Alps suggests, which is exactly why I was an 7.5/10 BEFORE the statement and for the reasons I mentioned in my own post... because our future is about more than just one summer, just like our progress this season is about more than just the good results or the bad results.
  4. Nowt pedantic about it, just trying to understand. Come on, you gotta admit that to change the mark that much based on one statement, does come across as being rather fickle?
  5. One statement swayed you that much?! As good as it is, it doesn't change any of our results or league position, yet you go from a 5 to an 8 on that alone?
  6. 7.5 for me - I think it's important to separate how far we've come and what we've achieved, from what we think we're capable of in the future. I also think that recent results will be good for us in the long run because the danger of rising too quickly is that the hype overtakes the reality and we sink back down again because our improvements are unsustainable. To finish 8th (hopefully) will be an excellent achievement, and a strong platform to build on. The aim for next season should simply be to try and finish higher than 8th. Continuous, gradual improvement, all while introducing more young players in to the squad, whilst developing the club off the pitch. We are in a fantastic position.
  7. I think that's worth highlighting... the fact that Les Reed himself came out and made the statement was a good bit of PR IMO.
  8. Normal pre-match conference, but Les Reed came out beforehand to read that statement.
  9. I was only going on the Twitter quotes - having read the full statement, you're right, it is far more emphatic and deals with the speculation head on.
  10. I know - it was one of your fellow pupils, and an ex-forumer who corrected my pronunciation in the first place - she was adamant the 't' was silent!
  11. Standard stuff really... doesn't change the fact that some players *might* leave if we get big offers.
  12. They've spelt Cantell wrong... I'm sure there's no 't' in it. Well, it's always pronounced 'Can'ell' whenever I hear anyone say it...
  13. The main point of contention originally was that it was being called a charity bike ride, when not all of it was for charity, but I really do think that under the circumstances, we're scraping the barrel a bit here if we're trying to criticise them for this. It started out as a fundraiser for the club, and then became a (partial) charity bike ride. There are times to pick 'em up on stuff, but this isn't one of them IMO.
  14. That was in reply to comments about Gallagher specifically.
  15. Not really had any of the ball to make any impact to be honest.
  16. Mixed it up a bit in the last 10, a few longer balls in behind which we've nearly profited from.
  17. Lovely interplay there... that's what we're looking for and that's why our build-up appears slow at times... we try to wait for the opportunity to open them up with a quick move.
  18. I'm not sure, pure luck I would say... but more importantly, where does Mrs Spudders live? And could you please tell us where she is planning on going each day so we can avoid those places. Ta.
  19. Important thing is to not let any frustration get to us, we've been close to getting in behind them a few times, we're doing the right things, just need to stay focused and not get panicky.
  20. Patience my friends, it'll come good.
  21. Viking, calm down... as norway clearly quoted, you did state that they could not delete child *porn* from the laptop, which is not quite correct, so it's easy to see how he thinks you've misunderstood the story. I don't think he's particularly disagreeing with the overall sentiment and indeed he puts forward a proposal that is similar to what most of us have suggested... so I'm not sure he deserves quite the response you gave him.
  22. Thing is, Dorset Police will get stick for this, but by default, they uphold the law, and the law states that they can't delete the other pictures. The law needs changing - I don't think anyone would argue with a change in the law to state that anyone convicted of such a crime must have ALL pictures of their victims deleted.
  23. Some illustration of the depth, literally, of the problem: http://apps.washingtonpost.com/g/page/world/the-depth-of-the-problem/931/?tid=sm_fb
  24. A mention here for Jose Mujica of Uruguay.
