Here's an idea then - lets wait and see IF it happens.

Just for clarity, what exactly are we blaming him for? And as a follow-up, why do we need to 'blame' anyone. What has gone wrong?

Some pretty big clouds on the main board at the mo, but to be honest (sorry Maya) I have no inclination to try and be their rainbow!
-
Some great quotes from her doing the rounds, some of which should be adopted on this forum. Let's start with: "Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud."
-
So is the sticky on the top of the forum.

Of course you can have an opinion, but it is better if it is informed in some way. I've seen little or no evidence for any of this 'shambles' people speak of yet.
-
Careful, such a sensible and open-minded approach won't go down amongst those who've convicted our board of incompetence already based on purely third-hand (at best) information.
-
It's amazing how so many of you can be judge and jury on people you've never met, based on nothing other than third hand information. Actually, no, it's really not amazing... par for the course it seems.
-
That could answer 90% of the questions raised on here at the moment. Of course the ultimate irony is that any fan should think they might know better, given that none of us (with the odd exception) have ever worked in the upper echelons of a football club before. And not that many more will have worked in the upper echelons of *any* multi-million pound company.
-
You have an amazing ability to make 2 + 2 = 17. And before you start, yes, clearly there is uncertainty and it is fair enough to be anxious to see what happens, but nothing has actually happened yet. Blackmore is just one opinion amongst many.

Being concerned with how the club looks during routine stuff is one thing... consulting with fans on things that affect them, respecting our wishes perhaps on kit or food and drink, ticket prices and other things etc. But this is an internal issue between and employer and employees and there is no way of making any such thing 'look good' when it needs to be done. It's just part of the job that unfortunately needs doing. The fact it is all taking place behind closed doors, and with due regard to whatever legal considerations there might be, means the club are simply doing it the CORRECT way at the moment, and some fans need to recognise this. We have no right to demand information about every aspect of the business, and some of it should be done in private until such time as details can be released.
-
Quite. If this line is true: ... then clearly something had to give, and I am sure the club have made the decision they feel is best for the long term future of the Academy and Club as a whole. But meltdown? Erm, no.
-
Does anyone honestly think the club would sack them WITHOUT good reason? They're not stupid, they know the potential fall-out of such a decision so I'm sure they believe they have no other option. As much as I too have a huge amount of time for Doddsy as a club stalwart, his current employment at the club should be based on his ability, performance and behaviour and if, for some reason, that has now been called into question then this might well be the right decision. As usual, we don't know the details (we may never) and, as usual, we have people judging things based on virtually no information. Who said knee-jerk reactions only come after actual football matches eh?
-
Or just non-disclosure agreements being drawn up and signed perhaps? They're fairly standard fare in football I think.

Drift Inn is good. Other I would suggest are The Oak at Lyndhurst - http://www.oakinnlyndhurst.co.uk New Forest Inn, also Lyndhurst - http://www.thenewforestinn.co.uk Possibly The Foresters in Brockenhurst, although not been there for awhile. Lots of pubs in Lymington but not that familiar with them to be honest.

I don't remember many articles like that when Cortese was here, and that really WAS a wall of silence. It seems pretty clear that the club will communicate more than they used to, but that doesn't mean 24/7 live Youtube coverage and twitter updates. It's bad enough that some fans can't go 5 minutes without F5'ing this board or the Newsnow Southampton page, without the Echo encouraging it. If fans have been 'beseiging' the Echo office, then I would suggest they need to get a life, and the Echo should tell them the same as the club... when there is news, we'll report it. In the meantime, go do something else.
-
No one specifically, but you led us down this path by asking for a yes or no after TwoPints had actually given a fuller answer to this question: Which gives the impression that you're trying to simplify the issue.

All going pretty swimmingly in the current LVCC game... I was slightly disappointed we didn't get a bigger 1st innings lead, but Glamorgan are 14-3 in their second innings at lunch so can't complain! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/scorecard/o36857

There was speculation before he said anything too. It changes nothing. And quite how anyone can judge someone to be out of their depth based on the few public encounters he's had, is beyond me. If indeed *any* of us are fit to judge someone in that position at all.

England World Cup Squad - Lambert, Lallana and Shaw included
Minty replied to Batman's topic in The Saints
Shaw is the third-youngest England WC squad member in history apparently, after Theo (who never played of course) and Michael Owen... so he could be the second youngest to ever play. -
Not including me at all. I've never said anything of the sort about anyone at Southampton, so you can take that back. I personally felt that by the end of his reign, Lowe's ACTIONS had led me to think it was for the best if he were to leave, but that was based on a heck of a lot more than just words about finances - if anything, it was my feelings about the financial situation at that time that led me to give him MORE time than most.
-
Saints Official Chaplain Tweets that players are leaving.

That's gotta be up there with 'Just ignore the trolls' as advice on this place... perfectly sound advice, but unlikely to be followed by the large number who just can't help themselves. ;-) -
lol - 2+2=5 season is well and truly underway. I love it.
-
Indeed - some didn't like the silence under Cortese, even when there was nothing to say. Some don't like Kruegar's more regular comments, and while admittedly there might be nothing to say, it's obvious why he is saying it, to counter speculation etc. He may need to learn a little about the Premier League and how the media over here works, but there will always be someone critical of what he does or doesn't say. Personally I think the openness is good and the underlying honesty about our finances and the fact we do have to be careful is the right approach. It might not go down well with those who thought we would continue to spend and climb the league but while that is still possible, it will be a gradual thing, on the back of some consolidation IMO. Above all else, I want us to remain a sustainable, well run club competing as well as we can in the Premier League, and never ever want to contemplate any kind of 'Pompey'-style decline.
