  1. Loving this comment from Twitter via BBC live text: Jason Eden: If Southampton are to compete for a Champions League place then they really need to be beating these mid table sides.
  2. Got my race pack now, looking forward to it. Upped the training again this last week or two and feel ok... not as good as I would've liked, but decent enough. Was aiming for 1h20m but will be happy with under 1h25m now... Planning on a short run tonight, a good 8 miles on Sunday, and then a nice short gentle jog midweek next week before Sunday. Seperate question - wife wants to come with me to give support, which is nice, but is there much for her to do while I'm running? Not read the booklet yet, but for those who've done it before, what's it like for non-runners?
  3. Use of computers etc will almost certainly be covered in your employment contract, so as Bob says, be careful. The fact you already have a couple of verbal warnings, whether they're minor or not, would indicate either an over-zealous supervisor, or that you deserved them... either way something needs to change, and it starts with you being honest with yourself about how hard you work and what you could improve. If you are happy that you do work hard and that those warnings were indeed for minor things that did not warrant disciplinary action, however minor, then you should have a constructive discussion with your boss and ask her to support you - if she feels you are not working to standard, then to give you guidance on what to improve and how... ask for things to be included in your performance improvement plan or appraisal or whatever you have... if you don't have one, or she is unreceptive, then find another job, because sure as eggs is eggs, your time there won't get any better.
  4. Wes is quite right, the exact wording is here: http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2000/11/section/58A And the guidance issued by the Home Office is here:https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/photography-and-counter-terrorism-legislation All clearly designed to be terrorism linked. And the reason I then mentioned the public/private thing is that it then comes down to the Ground Regulations about what recording of images is permitted.

    Vasectomy

    Vasectomy

Another reason to ask about the 'non-scalpel vasectomy' if you are considering having one done nowadays.
  7. Of course, the key phrase, in the first sentence is 'public place'. I don't know what the ground regs state about the Police - just tried to find them and can't see them on the website.

    Vasectomy

If you're considering having it done, it's always worth asking which technique they will use as there are more than one now. The newer 'Non scalpel vasectomy' uses a laser to make a small hole in the skin, and usually leads to less swelling, inflammation or pain. This isn't first hand knowledge btw, I just work at a Surgery that used to perform the technique. I'm still trying to start a family...
  9. If this is true, and I hope it is, as it makes the most sense, then it would make sense for them to actually tell fans this. But still, I'm sure there are far less obtrusive ways of doing so, like at the turnstile? Now I'm paranoid about Saints' 'fan in the stand' half-time competitions... is that actually to give the Police more footage to study?
  10. Less people, but a lot more connecting lines...
  11. Another one: http://www2.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/2013-14/oct/talking-tactics-saints-success-built-on-solid-foundations.html
  12. Clearly for most people, Utd losing would be the story, but given some of the press we have started to receive after our start to the season, I think there would be a fair amount of credit and kudos coming our way. But we're getting ahead of ourselves anyway. Anyone who goes to Old Trafford would be happy to just not lose, and I'll absolutely settle for that - but I am more confident than I can ever remember about the *potential* for us to go there and win.
  13. The specifics of what Middlesbrough have done aren't really the point here... the point is that the club have worked *with* supporters to come up with ideas that *both* parties are happy with. If we have different ideas, so be it, but the key is working together to come up with those ideas in the first place.
  14. And Uncle. At the same time.
  15. Do you mind if I ask why you're at such an event/in what capacity? Do you work in football or in the business of football? Or studying it in some way?
  16. I did raise a smile when he said 'and I will do it the same way in future'... Personally I think that he thinks MoPo has the potential to take us the whatever level we want to get to - but if he starts to have any doubts then he'll clearly start to put things in motion. What I think that means from our point of view is that if rumours start to come out about us looking for a replacement - as long as it's not from a complete washout of a source - then it probably does mean that NC has made a decision and is looking for the next manager... a matter of when, not if. Still, I don't think that'll be necessary personally, and can see MoPo taking us far.
  17. 2 weeks to go. How's it going people?
  18. Cortese's decisions are clearly planned and executed at specific times in specific ways, and once a decision is made, he will carry it through. That clashes with the traditional view that managerial decisions are sometimes delayed or reversed on the back of a result or 3, and is also worth bearing in mind in the future. He is clearly not an impulsive man, which, to be honest, is a good thing in business IMO.
  19. Interesting now about why managerial changes were made - although nothing particularly surprising.
  20. Not to mention that one of those conceded vs Newcastle was also a chip, from Phillipe Albert...

  22. Worth stating that the Local Plan that NFDC have drawn up (and which I think is currently being consulted on) is designed to guide development across the NFDC area until 2026... which is a long time. The housing that has been earmarked for Parks Farm might be planned for any time during that period depending on population growth in the area, and might even change completely. I suspect we'll see the club apply for further permissions in 4 years time, to continue to use the land etc, unless we do have a plan to move it all somewhere else? Something I doubt we'll know about any time soon.
  23. They live in Marchwood Cottage which is surrounded by Parks Farm and wrote several letters objecting to the plans on the above links...
  24. Lol, bit of an understatement. And to be honest, I can kind of understand it. But I doubt that occasional football pitch use by Academy kids will have quite the detrimental effect that think it will have...
  25. The more I read, the more I realise this is not because the development is temporary in the clubs eyes, but rather what is required to get it past the planning committee at this juncture. The Local Plan Part 2 (All councils have to have a Local Plan) designates Parks Farm as a potential site for residential development in the future, but doesn't mean they will necessarily be built in 5 years time... indeed to quote from the NFDC Policy response to the application: SFC may simply hope that housing needs and plans may have changed within the next 5 years... and frankly, with government policies changing all the time, especially if we get a different colour next time round, who knows.
