Saints 4-1 Carlisle - 2010 JPT Champions - Reaction
Rational Rich replied to Block 5's topic in Golden Posts
Sat on the train back to Stockport, having a couple beers, surprising number of Saints fans on board, absolutely brilliant day, saints fans magnificent as expected, very comfortable match. Loving the top tier waves going in opposite directions, fantastic stadium, and most importantly silverware at last - it's been a long time coming. All in all a great day even if it is just the JPT. At last it feels like a blessing rather than a curse being a saints fan. -
I certainly heard no booing when he was on the big screen, in fact quite the opposite. Block 141

Get in Lambo! 1-0 -
The debenture is essentially the charge (mortgage) document creating Portpin's security, similar to the mortgage deed for a residential mortgage, except it creates security (fixed and floating charges) over all the assets of a company, including goodwill, cash, stock, contractual rights, intellectual property, etc rather than just the land alone. If you have what is known as a floating charge over "all or substantially all" of the assets of a company, and your document states that it is a "qualifying floating charge" for the purposes of the Insolvency Act, then you have the right to appoint an administrator in certain circumstances. Without having seen the debenture and knowing all of the background, it is hard to say for certain on what grounds HMRC are challenging, I guess we will find out today.

Going all out attack to try to get the goals back. Wouldve been disappointed if they'd have done anything else with 10 mins to go of a cup tie.
-
We had to go for it at 2-1 down, so no surprise we got caught on the break. Still, got a Wembley trip to look forward to and we'll still have a club to support in 2 weeks time

Didn't Simon Jordan say something about Saints being cheats for going into administration and that we should be kicked out of the league or did I imagine that? Would love to see those quotes again now.

Why Markus Liebherr should buy Portsmouth Football Club

I think St Bobby had the best suggestion in the original post - the new club will be called Southampton Football Club. The original post made me laugh anyway, seems I'm in the minority -
It certainly feels like a win to me.

1992, ZDS Cup Final was our last Wembley trip

I know it would be controversial with some posters on here (whose objections seem small in comparison with what he achieved with the club), but surely Lawrie would be the obvious person and, but for his fall out with Rupert, would probably have been in the role ahead of John Mortimer when Ted passed away.

I thought Trotman looked the dodgier of the two today but only by comparison to recent performances - we never really looked in danger apart from when we took our foot off the gas for 10 mins early in the second half. But unlike before, we had the ability to pull back from that and get the game back under control. Hammond and Harding were good again, James played well apart from his final ball, still can't believe Morgan missed his chance, but as others have said Lambert was the main man today. Good to hear the Woolston Ferry being sung and the proper Rickie Lambert song catching on (less good to hear the tractor song - never liked that one).

Just back from the game (live just south of Manchester) and it was a solid win, when they scored my instinct was "here we go", reinforced when Morgan did all the hard work and then missed the target and when Rickie hit the angle of the crossbar and the post but we didn't fold, we kept pushing forward and sealed the win. The first half display was great, surprised it was only 2. Great to see us commanding games, winning all the headers 50/50s etc, long time since I could say that about Saints away from home. Also, was my 2 1/2 year old daughter's first game and she loved it. She now wants a saints shirt for Christmas - her mum's not going to be pleased...

Like it. That or the old Rasiak one I reckon.

Spot on what happened. We were ok, much better than them and much better than at hudders, things going in the right direction, just couldn't kill the game off. It will come. Hammond looks good, lallana and harding had good games, no-one was particularly bad, but we're not creating enough at the moment and need more width.

Former Reading striker Martin Butler would do the job

Also have to say the huddersfield song based on anarchy in the uk was original and impressive. Think that's one we could adapt. -

Nail on the head imho. Kelvin was immense today, first time I'd seen the new fullbacks and lambert, happy with them, the problem is what pardew's been left with at CB and CM. Perry had a mare and Wotton is not and never has been a footballer. Got to remember that huddersfield and millwall are two of the better teams in this league and according to some huddersfield fans I know, that was the best they have played for years (though we made it easy for them to do so). Good turnout of saints fans and liked the new rickie lambert song. -
Anyone know how many tickets we've sold?
-
Yes please. Would be a great signing

Derry, I know you knew. I was agreeing with you, just adding my 2p on the mess the FL have got themselves in.
-
First you would need to to be insolvent, and at the moment SFC is solvent and can pay its debts as they fall due. So no need for a CVA. This is one of the many points which show how impossible the league's stance is. The fact that SFCL can be sold, leaving SLHL behind, shows that they can't be inextricably linked. There is no easy way out of this for the FL, IMHO.

I think Surman means a bid from Sheff Utd.
