  1. Lenin is managing Celtic?! Jesus christ.
  2. I'll resist.
  3. All Saints Day - was meant to be a minutes silence, but the referee blew the whistle twice, leading people to think it was a minutes applause.
  4. Next time he scores or puts in a top clearance/tackle: "Nigel! Sign him up! Nigel! Nigel! Sign Him Up!" Tried to get it going at Boro.
  5. Definitely a good deal, with Connolly likely to step away soon, and Sharp being better than Barnard it would leave us with 4 strikers: Lambert Do Prado Sharp Barnard Oh and Forte.
  6. The Saints Range, Matchday Edition - brought to you by fashion expert JRM...
  7. Interesting listen, worth doing if you have a spare 6 minutes... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15482739.stm
  8. Can I point out he WAS a season ticket holder FOUR years ago. He goes to every home game with the academy lads, bumped into them once and had a chat with him and Jamal Branker.
  9. on BBC Football Homepage: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/default.stm Says Nigel has got everything right to be a top manager. Met Cortese a few times, doesn't criticise him. Nicola and Nigel have it all right, professional and a Premier League club. Great attendances. Lives near SMS and sees the streets full again, and everyone is happy again. --- Not much, but thought some may find it interesting.
  10. "The hosting of Leicester City has been put back to Monday 23rd January 2012 for live television coverage. The match was originally scheduled to take place at St. Mary's on Saturday 21st January, but will now be screened live on Sky Sports at 7.45pm on Monday 23rd. Saints will be looking to get one over on the Foxes who recorded a 3-2 win when the two teams met in August at the King Power Stadium. This will be the fifth televised Saints match of the season and follows on from December's screenings of Blackpool at home and Portsmouth away." http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2494826,00.html?utm_source=Twitter Difference in coverage is very noticeable this year.
  11. As long as he's got a hole in his arse he will never be a footballer. Good at running and muscling people, but the ball bounces off him, awful control and shooting was appalling. Sell/Loan him out.
  12. Rangers, Hearts, Southampton, Leicester City, Cardiff City and Middlesbrough are among a group of around 20 clubs keeping tabs on Partick Thistle's Aaron Sinclair, the 20-year-old defender signed from Montrose in the summer. (the Herald) Never heard of him, just thought I'd post it.
  13. The old Claus song for James? "Ward-Prowse! In the middle of midfield! Ward-Prowse! In the middle of midfield!"
  14. ..tomorrow night against Palace. I'm going so interested to see how he gets on. (Source: Radio Solent) Thoughts?
  15. "Nigel Adkins will be appearing in the Saints Store in WestQuay this coming Wednesday 26th October at 3pm to sign autographs and speak to fans. With schools on half term this week, it promises to be a very popular event so fans are advised to arrive early." http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2491906,00.html
  16. We could do very well. As far as I am aware, SMS does not meet current requirements for the hosting of RWC group matches... I think they need to add another 6-10 thousand.
  17. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/15373362.stm 1:10 in. "We'll play at St. Mary's in Southampton." The debate has finally ended, they are going to play at SMS. I would've liked to see them agree with the Don! In fact, maybe they'll help cover an expansion and I'm sure we will benefit from the hosting financially!
  18. You can get the pop-out button to work if you click the right part of it, it takes an attempt or two, then the buttons on the pop-out player works. :-)
  19. On Goals on Sunday this morning one of the guests was Sam Allardyce, and he was talking about their season so far and the conversation stumbled onto tactics, and he said he always believes it is best to play 2 up front. But talking about Southampton he said this was not the case, here are some quotes: "You always play two up top, it gives us the best chance to win, but it doesn't against Southampton." "Their strength lies in midfield and their service to Lambert so if we drop a forward & put one more in midfield we can benefit." "If you can break down Southampton's midfield and stop them passing the ball around you can defeat them, but it won't be easy for us on Tuesday." Seems like Hammers might be coming in a 4-5-1 in that case, would you match them or stick to 4-4-2? Personally I would bring Chaplow in for Connolly and match up to them. Just thought it might be of interest to anyone who didn't see the show.
  20. But surely on the same line, you can't wet your pants in frustration at him or at disgust of him being the 4th choice before you have seen him play?
  21. Yes. He's made all those idiots squealing about him coming in on Deadline Day look rather silly, good work Jos.
  22. He said it was because he couldn't go, why would you even bring up the topic of touting? Stupid.
  23. Agree. Would be in bad taste for "All Saints Day" to be overhung by a massive Markus flag. I will forever be grateful but this is not appropriate.
  24. Lallana technique - 13? Davis Handling - 11? Lambert Composure - 13? Lambert Work-Rate - 10? Dickson - Crossing - 9?
