  1. I have nothing against such a strategy, but our first priority was to establish ourselves quickly at this level in order to be able to continually attract such talent and potential on a regular basis; imo, of course...
  2. Imo, if you consider our activity in money terms (30m spent) about half of that money appears not to have really worked for the team in the expected manner.
  3. I look at that list of acquisitions and conclude that the club management werent particularly serious about consolidating our PL membership this season....
  4. I am not demanding his dismissal, but he does seem to have been found out by other PL managers in very short order.... Maybe his phillosophy/strategy will work with the right players, but we dont seem to have them currently. We have taken a massive risk that he can keep us up and then do business in the summer (considering our dire track record in the market..)
  5. So, two days on, and my usual emotional reaction dissipated, I still feel that the team has lost its way over the past couple of weeks and we are in big trouble. One can speculate what would have happened if we hadnt had that damned break again before the Newcastle game... I always say the measure of a team is how it responds to spectacular victory/achievement, not how it responds to defeat/failure...
  6. Hard to argue with this.
  7. Forren is a f**king tax write-off, imo.
  8. This season has been utterly sabotaged by a couple of individuals who, after two promotions, have got too big for their boots and thought they know it all. The two individuals involved do not need naming, we all know who they are.
  9. This result is nothing short of a major catastrophe. End of.
  10. Ramirez goal = papering over the cracks. We've gone backwards in defence. Fox is totally destabilising the back line.
  11. This seasons all going a bit Pete Tong, isnt it ? I cant decide if the biggest mistake was appointing MP, or the summer's trasnfer activity...
  12. Not fair to blame the development of the CD, imo. There is still an element of collectability and excitement about them similar to vinyl, imo. However, I DO blame: Apple Amazon The likes of Simon Cowell The likes of Stock Aitken Waterman The Internet
  13. Didnt David Moyes say on Sky that playing long balll is an easy counter to MPs tactics ? Isnt that what Toon did ? Does MP have a Plan B if it looks like the opposition are playing long ball ?
  14. Jesus Wept. FFS. Why does someone start this limp-wristed, zero hunger, zero ambition, defeatist b*ll*cky thread every time we face a tough game that we need to win. NO. Now f**k off...
  15. Dont think we will go down, but if we do, we will look back at our perennial dire summer transfer window as the reason.
  16. thisthisthisthisthis. My favourite as a kid. Should be grateful they are not made anymore, otherwise I will be ordering 5XL for the 2013/14 kit...
  17. This.
  18. Nice to see others pick up the baton
  19. Yes you could. But you seem to be forgetting which clubs are involved. Redknapp is commonly perceived as a results getter (FA Cup win, avoiding relegations though coveniently forgetting ours), so isnt seen as a failure overall. Moyes is at Everton - not a big club by modern-day standards imo, so mid-table respectability is probably viewed as reaching their level. But Wenger is at ARSENAL, FFS. A team that is always in the Champions League and top 4, but with no cigar. They regularly go AWOL when it really matters. Something is lacking there, and its Wengers responsibility.
  20. I would say an empty trophy cabinet is all the evidence that is required.
  21. Wow, your 2nd attempt to respond was worse than the 1st. You sound like Rupert Lowe.... I reckon most Arse fans would quite happily trade in a year's participation in the first round of the Champions League for a Premiership title...
  22. Arsenal under Wenger have failed spectacularly. Pretty football where you walk 6 goals into a weak opponents net doesnt cut it, you have to grind results out when you need to as well. Never understood the media overload or the Arsenal fan loyalty.
  23. Roobarb and Custard. That theme tune is the best ever.
