  1. You dispute that anything other than a win last night, with Boro coming up at the weekend, would have been a catastrophe ? We would have been down to 5th or 6th place with that match coming up. After the Saturday there would have been a good chance of us being out of the top 6. I dont see why away form should be especially analysed. The table position says it all.
  2. Good post. Completely agree. Its games like this that will most likely define the success of our season.
  3. Not fantastically perturbed that we got the rub of the green last night and were fortunate to win. Its about time we had a slice of luck. Still worried about our first half performances away from home.
  4. Hmmm. Not easy to tell an administrator that he cannot go to the game. And thats the problem. This site is run (pretty well) by Saints fans, so there is no-one around when it goes tittus verticus I also get the clear impression there is a difference between mods (of which there is quite a few) and admin, whom I believe is only Baj and maybe Steve Grant.
  5. Exactly. Its as self-important and pompous as demanding a fan on the board.
  6. But after winning a few games, a mere fraction of the season, it is OK to rant about how the squad is strong enough for promotion and abuse anyone who disagrees, is it ?
  7. Backpedalling ? Not all. Relief that we dug ourselves out of that hole ? Yes Worry that ok, today we managed, but we didnt at Tranmere and other occasions like this may be ahead of us to derail our promotion campaign ? You betcha. Really, all the "wrist slitting" comments are so childish and pathetic.
  8. Many ways to look at this game. We did win, we did fight back. But why oh why did we find ourselves in this position ? We have a lot more games like this coming up. Thank f**k for the result. At one point almost the whole top 8 or 9 (except Brighton) were winning except us. We have to keep up with the competition now, one slip-up could prove vital. Thank heavens we have much better GD than most around us.
  9. Would you prefer to be swearing like a trooper and forecasting all sorts of doom ? Our season is in deep trouble - no-one needs me to explain that to them.
  10. Really finding it difficult to find the right words to describe how disappointing this club of ours can be sometimes...
  11. Sod it, you might be right, there is a dot at 3rd on that graph.
  12. Despite the fact that SFC would benefit from it, there is only one club on the planet I would wish liquidation on, and it certainly aint Plymouth. It does however also begin with "P" and also hosts lots of funny men with a penchant for bell-bottomed trousers. Hope something comes up for Plymouth.
  13. No it didnt. We fell to 4th after losing to Tranmere.
  14. Well, you've done a pretty good job of trashing the continuity of the thread anyway. Within the "absolute b*ll*cks", both sides made relevant comments as well.
  15. Perhaps we can close this thread, seeing as Puncheon is a chapter of Saints history best forgotten alongside the likes of David Speedie.
  16. Its a really good post Halo, but speaking purely for myself (dont know what the other pessimists feel), its so damn hard to let go, expose yourself to the hurt again. Its like being dumped by your first love, you are scared to re-commit yourself. I am trying to control this by setting a simple line in the sand; I have promised myself I will let go of the fear WHEN we have achieved the first step of our return promotion L1 -> NPC, because then I have tangible evidence of the change. If we get to the end of the season without promotion, all of NCs standing up to the big clubs and NAs clever transfer market activity will have been in vain.
  17. The bottom line. But it shouldnt detract from his achievement if he manages promotion, because Pardew couldnt.
  18. This. Spot-on.
  19. Can we focus on getting promotion for a bit ??
  20. SFC has been a lad's club for far too long. NC has clearly shattered the status quo, and wants to look forwards, not backwards. That doesnt mean he is taking down historical photos and replacing them with steam trains. We also dont know the full details of the failed Pinnacle bid and the impact/jepoardy it caused the Liebherr bid. Or the immediate aftermath. But I think we are all glad things turned out the way they did. In summary, I think the ex-Saints are being a bit petty. I note with interest that the likes of Channon havent got a bad word to say about NC.
  21. Good summary.
  22. Thank f**k we got rid of Puncheon.
  23. Seconded. Well done NA for providing the charisma for getting them to stay, NC for telling the other clubs to fook off.
