  1. As well as AA is doing this season, he was crap for two years in the PL and if anything he is a metaphor for the huge job we would face just surviving, if we were to make it back into the top league. It’s not like he was keeping the bench warm for Pelle and Lambert either, if you can’t force your way into a team which can’t score for love nor money, that’s a pretty poor reflection of your own abilities, not the managers selection policy. Put simply, he’s the Geordie Vydra.
  2. In the League 1 promotion season, it was a 2-0 defeat at Rochdale which stopped us going 15 games unbeaten. The last 21 games of that season were W17, D2, L2, just ridiculous form compared to anything we’ve done since. After the Rochdale game, we won our last 6, followed by the first 4 of the Championship season, so 10 consecutive wins, followed by a 5-2 defeat at Leicester. I think you’re referring to our unbeaten home run, which basically stretched the whole of 2011 until we lost against Bristol City three days before new year.
  3. He’s the Parisian Juanmi; there’s a player in there somewhere but I don’t think it’s one we’re going to see performing in this country, even at second division level.
  4. Not another game as such but even amongst footballers this guy seems like an absolute helmet. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-67612757
  5. My two memories are rather better. I wasn’t at either game but: 2012 when Lambert scored a hat trick, I was on holiday and kept checking the scores. 2017 under Puel, when we won 4-3. That and a 4-0 win at hopeless Sunderland a couple of weeks before somehow built a myth that Puel’s teams were a free-flowing goal machine away from home.
  6. It was a pretty much bog standard third round draw, where three all PL ties got drawn. The rest of what you’ve just said is a hypothetical based on nothing. I’ve no idea what your point is RE: Leeds, Leicester and Ipswich, they’re decent Championship teams, nothing more. They’d most likely all be sent packing by the likes of West Ham, Brighton or Everton if it came to it.
  7. I'm racist and so's my wife!
  8. I never suggested you were but three PL clubs drawing each other in R3 is nothing out of the ordinary.

    Che Adams

Really looked like he was going through the motions to me. One of those players who can look busy by chasing around but the intent and endeavour just never seemed to be there. I hope he's off in January and I'll laugh my arse off if he ends up back in the PL.
  10. Yep. Fully looking forward to another Chelsea - Man City final.
  11. Why in the name of Jesus would you blow up then!?
  12. I was hoping to see one of them take the magical happy slide, all the way to the bottom.
  13. Never say never, but I’m 100 times happier with L2 at home, compared to another trip to Crystal f**king Palace.
  14. The difference being we’re not a clueless mess of a team this year and I have reasonably strong faith that THB won’t go swinging his arms at the ball and other players, in our own penalty area.
  15. Home draw vs. Crap team(s), can’t argue with that.
  16. 57. It’s the Haskins Garden Centre derby.
  17. Mayuka wasn't signed until after we were promoted. I think Tadders would have been a regular fixture, without his injury too. I seem to remember him starting a string of games after his Derby wonder goal, including that win at Leeds. What I wouldn't give to have Lambert, Lee, Connolly, Sharp, Barnard and Guly to choose from now.
  18. Overall a brilliant performance, bar some terrible finishing in the last half an hour. The first 20 minutes was about as one sided as I’ve seen in a game of football, absolutely all one way traffic. After that we seemed to take our foot off the gas for the rest of the half. Second half, particularly after we bought on Aribo and Fraser, we were all over them once again and it really should have been four or five. AA probably my MotM, he was everywhere, but how he didn’t net his hat trick with that first half header straight back across the goal at the keeper I’ve no idea. Aribo was excellent when he came in, could have set up three goals all by himself. Pretty much everyone excellent though, with a shout out to Manning and KWP in particular.
  19. West Brom's mascot today appears to be a gay combi boiler.
  20. Spent the morning rummaging through the ski gear for extra layers for this one. Still, it's not going to get close to Leeds away in 2009 levels of cold.
  21. I can't see him accepting anything below a PL level. If anything he's the West Hammiest signing I can think of, or possibly somewhere like Palace.
  22. Even without this set back, we’re 18 games into the season and he’s only made a couple of fleeting sub appearance. I could live with him missing the first month of the season but realistically we were looking at halfway through the season before he started a game, even without today’s news. I look forward to the situation being resolved in January, with a 33 year old RB on loan.
  23. He's f**king on one today! 🤨 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-67578993 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-67546785 https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/w172z09sb4sgln7

I think this thread needs a 24 hour ceasefire.
