He’s just turned 18, he’ll be given games if and when he’s ready for it. There’s no point just chucking him in for the sake of it.
-
It comes to something when there’re around half a dozen games which people are declaring as, “undoubtedly that one.” So many absolute stinkers in one season.
-
I wish people wouldn't cling on to these Star Wars puns.

It has to be Grimsby, to be that dreadful against a struggling League 2 team at home was an all time low. I don’t think we even managed that under Burley or Poortvliet. Lincoln, Forest, Bournemouth and Wolves are solid nominations for varying reasons. Anyone who says Newcastle at home clearly wasn’t watching. On another day that game’s 2-2 and they’re a decent side.

I think our owners may have jumped the shark here. We’ve crossed the line from incompetence to needing a CT scan and a radon survey. Since when did managers offer contracts?
-
TBF, you’d struggle to find many Saints fans who find Saints likeable at the moment.
-
They’re the flavour of the month because of the whole Netflix/Hollywood thing. Not really surprising I guess, as a lot of people will have been following with mild interest.

I’m not sure about that, they seem to be in enough trouble with PL income. They may need to offload a few just to balance the books. The likes of Pickford, Tarkowski, Doucoure, Iwobi, Maupay, Begovic, Keane, Townsend and McNeil all came from PL rivals, and would probably have taken a decent pay rise to do so. Hat squad will need major surgery in summer. Having said that, I just know the jammy buggers will get out of it with an unlikely win against City and another against Bournemouth on the last day.

Jose Fonte to return next season (Twitter Rumour)
Lighthouse replied to Esher Saint's topic in The Saints
In that case, we’re better off getting Lampard, Gerrard or Red Nev. Not that I believe there’s any truth to this rumour but I don’t want Fonte back here at all; player, manager or otherwise. If he goes somewhere and proves his credentials then he’s worth considering but to bet next season’s promotion on pointless sentimentality is just weird IMO. -
Agree, I don’t know why anyone would think the two teams who’ve been promoted from that league recently would be the weakest. There are plenty of people at Leeds and Forest who will know what it takes to come straight back up. I want Everton down for two reasons: It’s hilarious They have some decent players mixed in with all the dross, who will be straight out the door.

12 years ago on May 2nd, we woke up to the news that Bin Laden had been killed, then got promoted away to Plymouth.
-
Behind the goal, in a stand where we can easily adjust the segregation depending on ticket sales, like they do in around 90% of grounds I’ve been to.
-
Never been so happy to see rat boy score.
-
Can’t say I particularly have an issue with that. At the ground, after the game I’d expect the players to put a bit more of an effort into it but at their hotel I think they’re entitled to be left alone.

I read this to the tune of Rockafellar Skank, perhaps we could start a chant?

End of season awards night and lap of appreciation
Lighthouse replied to Paul Chuckle's topic in The Saints
If you did, you’d take the gong for, “player with the most precise aim,” of the season. -
That was the last game of the season, we were relegated before that. I was there, we were 1-0 up with 15 minutes left, then brought on Lancashire and lost 3-1. We all joined in the singing with the Forest fans, everyone was just sick of our football by then.
-
Genuinely more excited and willing Liverpool to score than I was for Saints today.

End of season awards night and lap of appreciation
Lighthouse replied to Paul Chuckle's topic in The Saints
It’s okay, we just need to think of some new, off the field categories as a distraction. Player with the crappest tattoos Player with the tackiest jewellery Player with the WAG with the most Onlyfans subscribers Player with the most press super injunctions Player with the most convictions for motoring offences Player with the lowest IQ Player with the most generic post match interview cliches. -
You’ve deliberately cut the form off just after his 7 points in 4 games at the start of the season but okay. However you try and dress it up, he scored 12 points in 14 games, with a worse squad and Diallo/AMN in CM. That ratio over 34 games would be just over 29 points, one of safety. The subsequent failures are absolutely relevant. If we were sacking him to bring in a guy with fresh ideas and a decent pedigree, who can take us forwards then fine. If you think our squad is far too good to be in a relegation battle and that being in 18th is a disgrace for a collection of such talent then go ahead, sack him. If however you’re just looking at the season going, "oh no! Results bad! Sack manager!" Because that’s the default setting and what every club does to look like they’re taking action, then that’s terrible decision making.
-
I will say, absolutely unequivocally and without a shadow of a doubt, that replacing Ralph with Jones and then Selles was by far the worst and most undoubtedly wrong decision of the season. He would have had us in the relegation fight, no doubt about it, but we’d be around Forest, Leeds and Bournemouth, not cut adrift, 20th, relegated 10 points from safety with our record lowest points total and utterly pathetic losses in basically every game.
-
I like how people ignore the fact that we were 18th and only a point of safety when he was fired, without Lavia, Alcaraz, Sully and Paul, whilst simultaneously clinging to a stat which proves that Forest Green are better than Liverpool.
-
He would be happy to discuss a permanent contract when his Arsenal deal expires in summer, apparently. I’ll f**king bet he would.
-
Nope, still playing for Newcastle apparently.
