  1. You’d rather we didn’t sign him at all?
  2. We’re not going to win every game this season, all our players are going to cost us points along the way. There will be games when the forward players can’t fashion a single goal in 90+ minutes and there will be games where our defenders make mistakes and we don’t keep a clean sheet.
  3. We’ve supposedly made around £60m from Salisu, Tino and a loan fee for DCC. If we add in Lavia and JWP it won’t be far short of £150m. Ive no idea why you feel sorry for Tella, unlike Tino, he’s never done anything in the Premier League. There’s nothing at all stopping Newcastle buying Tella for £40m, other than the fact that he simply isn’t that good.
  4. Nobody in this league has a better reserve RB than Bree, I'd bet three Lion Bars and some Clubcard points on that.
  5. The best part of this is it sends a message, loud and clear that West Ham can f**k right off with their £25m. If they think we’re selling our captain for less than a RB with fitness issues, they can think again.
  6. That’s the definition of a valuation, the price you’re willing to sell at. I’m quite happy with this deal, on the face of it. £32m rising to £40m for a RB, when we have three who should all be excellent at this level is a no brainier. It’ll literally be of zero detriment to the squad, nobody else in the Championship has KWP and Bree to chose from.
  7. By three different managers, which should tell you something. TBH honest, he just seems like a defensive version of Orsic; we thought he might be able to do a job for a relatively low fee but in the end nobody really had any confidence in him.
  8. A €3m loan fee for a player like that for a season is not unheard of and not an enormous loss really. I’m just glad he’s gone personally, I’ll always remember him for getting completely mugged off by a struggling League 2 striker (and the bizarre attempts to defend his actions by a few). One day his tombstone shall read, "Here lies Duje Caleta Car. So good they brought back Bednarek."
  9. A player is only ever worth what someone is willing to pay for him, which I believe will be around £40-50m when all add ons are included.
  10. These days £20m buys a decent Championship player and £30m buys someone fairly decent from Austria or Belgium. JWP has been playing PL football for a decade and is one of the worlds best free kick takers. He also counts towards the quota of home grown players and is always fit. If Wan Bissaka is £50m, Maguire is £80m and Rice is over £100m then JWP is easily worth £40m.
  11. No idea what that’s supposed to mean, sorry.
  12. Why would we need to compromise ourselves with any of that. JWP has a contract with Saints, if someone wants to buy that out they’ll have to pay what we’re asking. I couldn’t care less if that’s West Ham, Pompey or Slovan Liberec.
  13. So? What do you want, a medal?
  14. Unlike the bloke he was supposed to be marking.
  15. I think we need to lose two more CBs before we bring one in. Rumour is that DCC is on his way to Lyon, Lyanco looks the next most likely.
  16. The only way Dyche is going to surprise anyone next season is if he wins Miss Teen America. As for his team, they’ll probably be sour and wedged in the bottom half until he is sacked in November.
  17. Well, goodbye to another player who I will neither remember nor care played for us, in five years.
  18. I think we’d have won anyway, even having lost two in three balls, we were set quite well.
  19. I went along to watch the first innings this morning but had to leave after that. A bit of a mashup of a team with a couple of new faces in there, young Eddie Jack seemed to have a tough day with the ball but I guess that’s what this competition is about for us. Just flicking through the women’s Hundred on TV, some of these women have a serious obesity problem. We criticise players like Ollie Robinson and Luke Shaw when they turn up with a bit of extra timber but a couple of these players… completely unprofessional IMO.
  20. It’s the art of negotiation, the same as any other club trying to sign any other player. Of course they’re going to try every trick in the book to get him cheaper. It doesn’t matter their profit margins, if they take a £5m hit on every transfer, and make ten of them (in and out) every season, that’s £50m.
  21. The sale was neither ridiculous, nor were people pleased to see the back of him.
  22. There was nothing wrong with allowing Romeu to leave at all, our problem was Diallo continuing to be crap and AMN being useless in every position he played, including DM. Nobody ever talks about how ridiculous it was to sell Lallana, Lovren or Shaw, and they were much better players than Rom was in his last season.
  23. Don't be ridiculous, that's a complete load of nonse.... zzzzzzz zzzzzzzz zzzzzzz
  24. As a CM pairing JWP and Lavia were absolutely fine. Everything has a knock on effect, Forster looked much better playing behind Fonte and Toby, they looked better playing behind Morgan and Wanyama, who in turn looked better with Tadic, Mané, Davis and Pellè to play in in front of them. I’ve watched young inexperienced Lavia and gritty Jermaine Wright, I know which one I’d rather have next season.
  25. I find it’s easiest if you put on a pair of extra large wellies and shove their back legs down the big space, in front of your legs, that way they can’t run off. Oh sorry, I thought you said sheep.
