Yeah but really though? Do you think some skinhead growing up on an estate in Derry in 1970 actually cred about Cardinal Wolsey, Anne Boleyn and Thomas Cromwell? Catholics and Protestant were just the team names.

Israel’s existence is the reason for Hamas’ existence. People want to join them to wipe Jews and/or the Jewish state off the face of the earth, I don’t know how many times it needs to be repeated before people get it. The Israeli retaliation will invariably make things worse but remember; the initial terror attack which killed 1500 innocent people, from a variety of different countries, happened first. Why do people want to join Al-Qaeda, Al-Shabaab, Boko-Haram or ISIS?

That bit’s easy, you just get the entire world to immediately give up religion and aggressive, tribal instinct.
-
They all had, rational goals which could be negotiated, which gives some ground for a compromise to be met. Hamas and Iran want the entire Jewish state wiped off the face of the Earth. They don’t want a free Palestine, they want a gone Israel.

If we’re going overseas, I’ll have those two Afghan openers.

I don’t mind the hatred of women, gays and basically anyone who’s educated and not a fanatical Muslim, but the c*nts are beating us at cricket.

Oh yes it can. There are plenty of people out there genuinely longing for Armageddon; judgement day so that whichever god they happen to believe in can grant them eternal paradise and punish the non believers.

That Indianapolis scene. Perfection.

Nigh on flawless, I can't help but 99.99% agree with you, but I'd have been holding that poison dart like my dong whenever Jet was on Gladiators.

Back on topic; in movies when a character drops something of critical importance to the plot, when they should be gripping it for dear life, with white knuckles. It’s perhaps the only blemish on the otherwise faultless Jaws.
-
They did have that weird phase of bottling it in the early 2000s though, then they got knocked out by England last time, the same day we lost 0-9 against Leicester.

It was a cracker, deserved a higher billing than a QF.

I still can't quite believe this.

No, he saved the lowest percentage of shots he has faced, in a very short sample of games. Not all shots are the same, you can't extrapolate that to making sweeping statements about everyone facing 100 shots.
-
Many Palestinians might want that but Hamas, backed by Iran, has no intention of allowing Israel to exist at all. There will never be peace.

I think my favourite bit is the young Reading lad who got through the bottom corner at 15 seconds, then realised there were no stewards between him and Swindon mush, so immediately turned round and ran back to safety. Proper naughty.

Nobody is saying the Israelis don't do anything bad. I don't condone a lot of what the USA does but I know who the bad guys were on 9/11. There are differing shades of bad.
-
The Israelis have been ruthless in the defence of their territory and have no doubt committed many human rights abuses in clearing settlements. What they haven’t done is gone in beheading children and shooting up music festivals with the expressed intention of killing as many innocent people as possible and instigating a holy war.

Not sure what all the fuss is about, seems like a nice bloke.

Well if you can’t score to save your life, I’d say a keeper making excellent saves is keeping you in the match. There were also numerous people saying he commanded his box well, came for crosses and kept a clean sheet. If he hadn’t saved those four shots on target, we’d have lost 4-0, it’s a shame Professor Hawking died and isn’t around to explain the maths to you.

Strange, I seem to be remembering it like a lot of people on this thread but you remember it however you like.

Both Grimsby’s goals were penalties although TBF he didn’t get anywhere near either of them. In fact I’d say he was a good 70 yards away from both.

Is our squad better now than when we lost in the playoffs?
Lighthouse replied to Ex Lion Tamer's topic in The Saints
That was one game, Kelvin had a regular habit of being beaten at his near post and his kicking was far, far inferior. Kelvin has Elland Road, Baz has Old Trafford, I wouldn’t judge either on one specific game (although losing 5-0 at Hillsborough has to be worth a mention). -
SAA looked pretty hopeless against a none too special QPR team. He hasn’t ‘gotta’ be anything at all, I don’t know where the idea comes from that anything else must be better than what we’ve got not.

I’m going to suggest that it’s the name which you find irritating, not the actual concept. If an expectant couple wants to get away for a short vacation before a sprog pops out and ruins the next 18 years, that’s not a bad idea.
