It was probably the useless performance of Pellegrino in the same game that earned him a job as our manager.
-
Christ, is it really time for you to pretend not understand that again, already? The year just flies by…
-
No idea who this bloke is but I don’t think he needs any further discussion or air time.
-
Our defence was worse, 5 goals worse over the course of the season. We conceded 2 or more goals on 24 occasions and 3 or more on 8 occasions. There was nothing scandalous about it, our defence was dreadful and we deserved to go down.
-
All of which is no use if your defence is hopeless and you need said forwards to score two or three per game just to get a point. Claus, GLS and Dodd were past their best, the rest were mediocre in their prime and every game was just a tombola of defenders. Between Dodd, Kenton, Delap, Telfer, Cranie, Baird and Nilsson we had seven potential RBs on the books and not one of them put in a decent performance.

If you can’t wait to get rid of ‘tossers’ like JWP and want a ‘no nonsense’ manager, you have a serious case of be careful what you wish for. It’s very likely the former will leave and be replaced by someone no better than Diallo. As for a no nonsense manager, I can’t think of anyone who fits that description better than Jones; lump it forward to the big man.

Why?
-
Eh? Apart from the City game, they’ve only really got Newcastle to worry about. Their next highest placed opponent is Brighton (7th) at home.

Dyche is out of the drop zone on GD and has one win in seven. In fact I believe he is on the same points per game as Selles since both have been in charge.
-
And it’s pure, surreal, comedy gold. Absolutely radio rental.
-
Well, we won the cricket at least.
-
I fear Selles subs will be more Kursk than Red October.
-
I finally understand what people mean when they say Walcott helps to develop our younger players.

Nah, what's that special welding technique NASA use to attach the re-entry tiles onto the underside of a shuttle?
-
When the smart gantries have 40mph signs up for night roadworks, then the works just end and there's nothing to indicate a return to national speed limit. I was driving down the M3 a couple of months back and there was work being done around Lightwater. By the letter of the law, according to the (lack of) speed limit signs, I should have kept going at 40, all the way to the end of the variable speed limit at Hook.

I think it's great, until Villa scored a moment ago, Everton were in the drop zone.
-
F**king hell, they're actually having tea. 🤣
-
So you think we were good against Leicester and Casemiro being sent off was a tactical ploy by Selles? I could buy your argument if we weren’t dreadful in every game when we didn’t have luck.
-
I've given him a chance; he looks crap, no better than Jones and only has more points thanks to luck. 40% of his points have come from Ihenacho turning up in his toblerone shoes. Ralph didn't have Sully, Alcaraz or Paul and Lavia got injured after five games.
-
There has been no improvment at all. Jones had the Everton game, Selles had Chelsea, the rest has been sh*te from both of them. If Wolves had missed all the chances Leicester did, we'd have won that game. If Forrest had given away a soft, late penalty like Spurs did, we'd have got a draw. The difference between the two can be summed up in one word; luck.
-
Sold out, apparently. I think we all know why that is.
-
Adam Armstrong scored 29 goals in his last Championship season, is he too good for us?
-
From 52-0 to 86-4 is somewhat of an improvement. I went down for a few hours earlier, not a bad day when the suns out.
-
Correct. If Saints played any of the teams England women have, they’d win every game 20-0, wouldn’t need a penalty shoot out, ever, and would win every tournament in second gear.
-
Is that the issue though, really? I'd say a team without fight is one which downs tools when the going gets tough. 1-0 down at half time becomes 4-0 in the second half, etc. We aren't doing that, we just look bereft of ideas, confidence and joy. Every game just seems like an uphill slog against the inevitable.
