Hopefully not too bad. Just a week of rest should do it.
-
Phew, now finish the job.

Aintforever’s comment has nothing to do with nightingales, whether it’s true or not, your argument is a non sequitur. It doesn’t matter whether bed space has ever been a limiting factor or not, we increased capacity where we could at short notice.

I’m not sure you truly appreciate the unpleasantness of the situation they were put up to deal with. Imagine those peak waves in India and Brazil, when people were lying in the back of cars in mile long queues gasping for oxygen. It would have been a case of bring them in, stick them on a bed and hope a skeleton crew of medical professionals could spread themselves out enough to keep everyone hooked up to something.

I messaged my Foxes mate yesterday and said, "Vestergaard says happy new year 2003!" I’m still waiting for a response.

There must be a few but by definition they’re quite hard to remember. Who was that French guy Leicester had before Rodgers?

Need someone with Covid to lick Kane and Son, any volunteers?
-
A draw. Neither team is much to write home about. 2 points handed out instead of three.
-
Please no! Not this again.

Well, they shut me up. Thought that was nailed on disappointment from the minute Moi scored. Merry Christmas Saints fans!

Six minutes…. We all just know don’t we.

Still going to lose in injury time AND be last on MotD.
-
So… Rice to win a penalty 3 minutes after he should have been given a stonewall second yellow, followed by the inevitable Antonio (90+3) to win it.

Unless you’re a bedridden anti-vaxxer on an MV ward.

In my example, the 10 elderly cancer patients are in hospital are there, come rain or shine because they’ve got cancer. Covid could be irrelevant to why they’re in hospital but it still counts as a statistic. Even if they caught it in hospital, they would most likely be protected by the vaccine BUT still count as a ‘vaccinated hospitalisation with covid’. The real problem is the people in hospital with covid who have no other business being there and going by most reports they are overwhelmingly people who are unvaccinated.
-
Which is a pointless statistic because it only shows who’s in hospital WITH covid and not as a direct result because of it. For example if you have 10 elderly patients, having cancer treatment, who are all fully vaccinated and 10 unvaccinated patients in a ward with covid, that will just show up as a 50:50 split in the statistics. Where’s that random paragraph segment even from, anyway.

I’m not sure what must be going through your head to serve somebody with ‘legal papers’ which aren’t actually legal papers. What was the end game in that plan? They all turn up in front of a judge, who finds them in contempt of court and slaps a fine on them, or just hope that absolutely nobody of any legal standing actually glances at the papers and Shearer gets sent to prison? It’s like turning up to US border control with, "My Passport and Viser Visa," written on a napkin and hoping for the best.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-59758784 I don’t have any particular point to make about this article but that nurse has lovely eyes.

It says it black and white in the first paragraph, "envisaging anything from 200 to 6,000 deaths a day from Omicron depending on how many more restrictions we’ll get." That’s basically my point. Of course the government asks them to model worst case scenarios, why wouldn’t they. You don’t need a plan of action for the, "yeah, well basically it’s mild but fairly infectious and admissions sort of tail off." You need to know what could happen IF we start getting 100k, 200k or a million infections per day. I repeat, it’s not like we’ve taken these worst case scenarios and locked everyone in their homes. Cases are rising - wear masks, get jabbed, work from home if at all possible. It’s proportionate to the rise in cases we’ve experienced so far.
-
Are they, or are those just the figures the media use to make sensational headlines? I'm sure they've modeled dozens, maybe hundreds of different parameters and possibilities. Nobody is hanging their hat on these predictions. We've been asked to wear masks in indoor venues and get a booster jab, which so far seems to have done a pretty good job at containing the variant. Hardly 'batten down the hatches' is it?
-
You do understand that there's a difference between prediction modelling, based on mathematical algorithms, worst case scenarios etc. etc. and what is ACTUALLY likely to happen? Scientists are making their best estimates on a strain of virus which wasn't even heard of about a month ago. You seem to be one of the very few people continuously posting their astonishment about these figures.

Just shy of a million jabs recorded today, pretty good going.

Toto, I don’t think this thread is in Kansas any more. 🤔

Two auto-corrects I've sent which weren't well received: "I love you Abby!" - It was supposed to say 'baby' "I can't wait to see you Katie." - It was supposed to say 'later' My girlfriend at the time was not called Abby or Katie, although I had both of those on my Facebook friends list. She was obviously calm, rational and saw the funny side. 🙄

If only there was a simply way for people to get around that for free, in ten minutes…
