Sure, it won’t offend anyone but it isn’t making me want to tune in either and I probably won’t. Merse struggling to string a sentence together was one thing but having him an Morrison on the same show is hard listening. I had assumed that the three they sacked would just be replaced by some PC wet dream but Sherwood, Pulis and McCoist? The latter ceased being funny on Question of Sport 20 years ago.

Actually, thinking about it; this time next year Romeu will be out of contract, 30 y.o. and really doesn’t suit Ralph’s high tempo, dynamic approach. Perhaps ID is being brought in as more ‘one for the future’ and JWP and Grujić will be the starting pair. Next summer Rom leaves and we’ve got a decent mix of CM options.

Can’t see us getting Grujić and Diallo, surely.

Carrillo and Boufal will be gone by next summer at the very latest and the end will be in sight for Fraser and Hoedt. That’s some serious meat off the wage bill.
